This is Hammer's daughter posting. I just wanted to let you all know that he passed away yesterday from lymphoma. He so enjoyed interacting with this community. His loved to push the limits of life and live on the edge. He always wanted to take the adventure just a little farther. Thank you for being a part of his life.

This is very sad, I've rode with Hammer a few times at Walker and he was always a great guy to ride with. RIP Hammer and we will ride again.

I am so sorry to learn of Gary's passing. A true adventurer and great guy to ride with.
I'll never forget riding him back to his Burlington on the back of the KLR after his
bike broke down on FS17. Anything I could do to help would be an honor.
Best wishes to his family. :cry

Wow, just goes to show that life is way too short.

I rode with Hammer up to Mt Baker in 2008.
    That was the Anti-Oyster run.

He could really hustle that 950 around. :evil
    Good times.

Hammer and his family will be in my prayers tonight.

There are no gated roads or trails where Hammer is riding.

    Howdy Hammer Family,

I never had the chance to ride with Gary but he helped me do some custom wiring on my Ural. I didn't know that he was sick, I am saddened by his passing. My sincere condolences to the family. :cry

Though I only rode with Gary twice, we made friends fast. He was a truly unique individual, one we looked up to.

We in the ADV community will miss him dearly. Godspeed Hammer.

So sorry to learn of the passing of your Dad. As a lymphoma patient myself, I'm sure he was living life to the fullest in recent months, so I hope that's of some solace to you.
