A rather urgent question, if someone is able to help me out:

I'm currently performing "open heart surgery" on my bike here in Siberia and for some reason, I don't remember which of the engine case bolts, starter flange bolts, clutch case bolts and magneto case bolts have copper washers under them. The engine manual or the parts book are not being very helpful either. The engine is going back together at a good pace now, so if anyone remembers or is able to help in finding a definitive answer for the location of the copper washers, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,

    Tseta

I'll try having a look later, but for now..............I'd put the copper washers under any bolt that does not have a blind hole.
The only ones I can think of at the moment are the rocker cover and small oil filter bolts.

    Cheers

I'm not sure if these help but here are some pics from my 07. The only copper I can see though the dirt are the 6 on the valve covers and the 4 on the head kind of "inside" the valve covers.

Tseta, From the KTM LC4 Repair Manual...pg 6-14D
Imagine the clutch case cover round portion is a clock, the bolts at 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock get the washers. I Loctite all the bolts, add oil to the crank.

BTW recently I put my clutch together incorrectly and had to go back and follow the steps in the assemby portion of the repair manual for getting the clutch plate cover on correctly, etc.

    Wish I was with you.

Thanks to all who replied to my question about the copper washers on the engine bolts. I believe with these pieces of knowledge I will be able to continue assembling the engine.

    Cheers,

    Tseta,
Tried to access your blog with the link but it didn't go.
Can you post the link again.
    What happened to the engine?
I was not aware of your problems.

    And in Russia, very interesting.

Something here is not like the others...

Found a little campground bar with awesome homemade food and a train horn mounted on the deck out in the middle of NOWHERE in West Virginia off the Hatfield and McCoy trails tonight.

It's a place called "Riders Paradise" off of one of the outlaw trails that spurs off of connector trail 20 of the Indian Ridge system. It's $25 a night per person in a cabin. Apparently it's a little more lax when it comes to noise than Ashland Resort where we're staying after hours. We got... Reprimanded.... for being loud after ten. We were nowhere near loud, but oh well. It's a good time. I had water halfway up the tank on one river crossing. I wish I had a video or picture of it. There were thirteen crossings on that trail.

I'm making a note of that! Thanks! I'm not loud but I'm not quiet either.. I've bothered my neighbors here at the house just talking around the campfire at night..

Hi, Looking for contact details for ZeroDog (a member on ADV). Used to be a 640 owner and I heard he was good with the suspension. Anybody know what happened to him, or have contact details?

G'day. Has someone messed with the standard paint? It doesn't look like mine, although it has silver on it.
