    Wrong comparison. What the price/night of a mountain view/lakeside/oceanfront hotel? $400/night? :lol3

We bought out Raindrop for the cost of renting and fueling an RV for a 20K trip.

    Every night now is free!

I suppose it's like any other toy, if you use it enough, it is worth owning your own. If you need it for a week every other year, you rent.

It's also nice to be more flexible in where you stay, particularly in remoter areas.

This $4 gas is an ass-kicker at 8mpg. Be nice if they would get ahold of the speculation and throw some regs at it. Supply has nothing to do with price...

Upside, after paying $4 for awhile (50 cents per mile) $2 will seem so cheap that the world will be my oyster :clap:clap:clap

I've had my Casita 17' Liberty Deluxe since '05 and I love it. All the comforts of home only smaller. TV is my '08 Frontier Crew Cab with V6 and auto. Goes like a dream.

It's a little heavier than 2 grand, but the tongue weight is under #500.

I'm in the process of rigging my DRZ to go across the tongue in place of the propane tanks.

Thanks! Me too. It's just like a sailboat. Doesn't hold a ton but goes anywhere. Easy to tow.

Head and shower, three-way fridge, double or queen sized bed depending on how you rig it, sink, stove, awning, the works.

The thing I love most about it is you pull in and it's all ready to go, unlike a pop-up. Stop for a break, make a sandwich, take a nap, (or a crap,:D) and back on the road. Get in late, just walk back and get in it and go to sleep.

Patrick, you have probably noticed me drooling over in the NWGS Motorhome thread but I really kind of feel like I have it all in this.

Now, of course if I had the Sprinter I want as a TV... :clap

That unit is awesome but weighs more and is more expensive.

I can't believe I haven't come across this thread before. I just bought a microlite trailer for 7000. I have the cargo lite extreme. It is sweet. I can tow my bike and live and its really cheap.

I 100% recommend these guys. they are a small business who does custom units. My unit has a custom built outdoor shower and electric water heater. they can also do awnings and stuff.

    dealer i went through- ---- http://www.gunlakepaddlesports.com/

Any advice for a young (19 year old) novice trailer owner? I am living in it full time this summer.

I bought this 2 weeks ago. Sink, fridge, microwave, AC and bed. Price was right for a lightly used 2008. All aluminum.

That sounds like an adventure! Are you traveling?

Do you know about the ADV tent space list and map? http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=776925

It was 6990 dollars with the custom set up. It was previously used as a display model so I got a little discount. The guy at Gun lake Paddle sports was great and he totally customized it to my liking. It is a 2011 and has never been used outside of conventions.

I live in NY, and I drove out to Michigan on one day, slept in my car, picked it up early the next morning, and drove back. That wasn't much of an adventure, but was fun. The next day I left for a week long motorcycle trip....If you are bored you can check out the RR http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=775563

I haven't been able to actually go on any adventures in her yet. I am wrapping up college in Northern NY and then I will be living in her full time. I am either going to live in Northern NY and take my Fire 1 Firefighting class and go on adventures, or I am going to drive her out to Ontario Oregon and work as a wild land firefighter this summer. Either way I will be living in it full time and going on adventures.

Thanks for the tent space list. That will definitely come in handy.

    cheers:freaky,
    Tyler

    Good looking trailer.

I've been wondering about the possibility of something like that.

Junior, I am really interested in the same model of microlite. Keep us updated as you live in it.

    Thanks.
