I have been searching and found both mentioned - bags connection is very well documented indeed. I have not, however been able to find a direct comparison.

Have any of you ever used both? For comparison purposes? Pros vs cons?

To me they seem like the two most interesting tank bag options around but the data on the Givi system is pretty scarce, I would love to hear your comments on them - and as I said particularly from any of you who have actually tried both.

    TIA

The Givi stuff is pretty new. I've been looking at it but haven't pulled the trigger for it yet.

I should be recieving my bags connection system today - but I would not be adverse to changing it to Givi. I think it's an interesting solution.

Going to put on my R1200GS.
Got the T480 Tankbag in and its very HQ stuff.
Finding the mounting rign (BF07) for the GS is a difficult task though.
Will try and post pics when I have the whole setup in place.

Bump for anyone with new info that can compare or if you've just had experience with the Givi set up.

What kind of bike are you putting this on?
I've got the Givi 480 and the fit rings are def a challenge.
Givi customer service also leaves some thing to be desired.

I'd be putting this on a Tiger 800. Hadn't heard the rings are tough to install. I'll keep that in mind.

Not a challenge to install, a challenge to get confirmation that they will fit your model when it's not listed on the Givi website.
My tank rings I had to fit are for a 2002 Ducati Monster 620 and a 2006 BMW R1200GS

Besides that issue how do you like the set up? Is it secure? Does the quality seem good?

I looked at the Givi application chart and they only show the Street triple 675 for Triumphs models but that model shares the same mount with the Tiger 800 for Bags Connection mounts so I am guessing its the same. I'll send an email to Givi and see if I get a response.

Edit, FWIW Givi responded in less than an hour with their recommendation of which tank ring fitting to use.

Hey swimmer I'll be sticking this bag onto a Tiger XC, when you heard from Givi which model tank ring did they say was going to work?

    Thanks,

    Bump.

How do folks like their tanklock bags now? Looking for a non-scratching option, but wondering how the ring system holds up after extended use and some rough roads. How does the system do when loaded up heavy-ish? Thanks!

I can only say that the first generation of what's being called the bags connection (aka, sw motech) tank ring has been on 3 of my bikes for over 100k miles and still works like new.

We (wife and myself) have the SW Motech / BagsConnection on a R1200R and a R1200GS and the Givi solution on a Multistrada 1200.

I have to say that I like the Givi (Ducati version of the ST602) tankbag better than the BagsConnection (City and Daypack). The interior is just more useful. Also the connection is easier to click it, the tank bag is a bit more rigid, so easier to attach and there is no drilling of the tank bag to fit it to the motorcycle.

I'm likely going to sell the City tank bag since on the GSA it now rubs against the plastic, which is exactly what I want to avoid with these style of bags. I've drilled it for my GS, and even there it rubs a bit because the bag has sagged since.

Overall, the best tank bags I've had so far were Touratech (Kahedo), the BagsConnection and Givi plain don't hold a candle, but they are so convenient with the tank rings.

Interested in the Daypack if you decide to sell.

Screw the overpriced official tank bags for these setups. A plastic cutting board turns any tank bag into one that'll work with one of the rings. I've been doing this since my first sw-motech one fell apart. My current one is a Nelson Rigg bag that has a space between the main body of the bag and the bottom that fit the cutting board perfectly. 20171115_161643.jpg

No, the Daypack fits nice, the city is the one sagging.
