Well, there you go, thanks. I've never seen that before, any info about it? does that system have any advantages over the traditional setup? I guess there's lots of hardware we never get to see over here. Edit: I googled the Rhino, very impressive, ugly but somehow attractive at the same time. ( I think there's a JM thread along those lines).
I got to handle one of those last week, but not shoot it. It is a neat idea, probably works well, but is one ugly revolver for $999. I'll pass. Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...
The designer pioneered the idea with his Mateba Autorevolver. Which I think is more cool, but even more complicated and less practical. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mateba LifeSizePotato on youtube has some videos on how the rhino and mateba work and what it's like to shoot them.
Thanks fellas, some good feedback. I clicked on the pic as speedo66 suggested, got the info on the 2" Rhino, thanks. Saw the pic on that page of the 6" Rhino, what a fugly gun that one is. I think that design looks best with the shorter barrel, the 6" one is just wrong. Cheers
If you are shooting a M1911, you do need to get the extractor and recoil spring tuned. If they are correct the brass will make a nice small group somewhere not too far from the shooter.
Ooops, I did it again... Bought the Beretta PX4 Storm in .40 S&W. Have not shot it yet, so no range report. Decided that since the CO Legislature passed all them new laws, I aught to 'celebrate' by getting another piece. Looked at the LC9 but decided that the full sized just made more sense, since I shoot mine. Pics will follow at a future shooting date. Nice to hold, looks like it's going to be easy and fun to shoot - sure is a unique design with the rotary barrel lockup mechanism. Dealer had another FNH, the FNX-40, same as my FNS but with the external hammer - I was tempted, mainly as the FN comes with THREE mags per new gun and they are interchangable between the two models. And the wife would not be able to tell the difference! But I decided that was sort of paranoid and the point was to have a variety of pistols - in this case, sharing the cartridge makes sense as it reduces inventory needs, and will make reloading easier.
Just finished this project today.... Don't be fooled... It's just an off the shelf Remington 700SPS in .243Win. wearing an AICS stock. 'Had the barrel shortened and a brake installed... The 'smith I use makes these brakes himself... They're very effective. Scope is a Bushnell 4200 6-24x50.. Warne rail and rings. 'Also had an extended bolt handle installed. 'Plan is to vapourise gophers with it.
Yes, they are the same. My dad had one in 12 gauge that I inherited. I traded it and some other firearms for some other firearms. Last I saw the guy had cut it down, did a crude refinish on it and was trying to sell it as a military variant. :huh As if a good collector wouldn't know the difference - but there is always somebody trying to make a quick buck off the unwary. I had thought to cut it down too, but not to sell it as something it wasn't. I decided to just get rid of it.
I feel sorry for your shoulder. I had an old Stevens (I think it was) or similar single barrel shotgun with plastic furniture. Shot some duck loads through it. :eek1 Gave it to my SIL.
Who needs a muzzle brake to reduce recoil on a heavy .243? All it does is annoy the poor bastards on either side of the shooter at the range.
This ain't a range gun... And even if it was, My ranges are vacant 97% of the time. The brake helps with being able to see the target(s) get all explodey...
I can do that with my .220 Swift. I just don't blink when it goes off. A 50 grainer at 3850 is awful spectacular. Pasture poodle heads go 10 feet straight up.
Here's an iPhone photo of the new one. Oops...need one without serial number....sigh. That does not work either. Crap....try again. It will be interesting to see if it shoots up to some of the reviews.
I have always wanted to try that round...being a fan of little bullets...execpt the 223 (that will piss some people off, actually I don't think it is the round but the black rifle group of people FOR THE MOST PART they are a bunch of mouth breathers that will do something stupid with a gun) I really would like to find something in that round for just that reason. I have got to do one P-dog hunt....if you can call it a hunt...them things are stupid...they just stand there and look at what is left of their buddy.....hay Bob, hay Mike whats up....crack...hay Mike what just happend to Bob....hay Mike where did your head go...is it over there....is it over there...no...hmm...Hi St. Peter....Hi Mike, Hi Bob.
