Scooter Rally Notices

I went to this rally last year, it was a whole lot of fun. Over a hundred scooters showed up, of all shapes, types, and sizes. My favorite part was the Gymkhana, it was hilarious watching a guy destroy the obstacle course on a Big Ruckus, and cool to see all the guys on tiny scooters zip through it.

We rode the PC800, I got an offer I couldn't refuse for my scooter a couple of weeks before the rally. We were riding 3-up... Me, my fiancee, and the dog:






We saw a guy dressed as Luigi chasing a guy dressed as Mario. Atlanta is a weird city.

I participated in their Death Valley Endurance Rally last week and it was a hoot!

It's getting close to the second annual Lobster Roll, a 100-mile scooter ride starting in Portland, Maine, and ending in Rockland, for the closing weekend of the Maine Lobster Festival.

Ton-Up NC's annual Bull City Rumble is this weekend, Friday 8/31 - Sunday 9/2 in Durham, NC.

This even has grown from a casual small-parking-lot affair to a big shindig that closes off part of West Main Street in downtown Durham.

There's always a bunch of cool scoots there in keeping with the mods v. rockers theme.

Registration for 2013 "Scooting the Ozarks" is now open. The rally is held in Eureka Springs, Arkansas Sept. 11-14. The host hotel is the Comfort Inn of the Ozarks (special rates available via the STO website!). There's camping nearby and we are in the middle of some of the best twisties in the country. Attendees coming in from 14 states, and Canada are already pre-registered. This is a riding rally, with planned rides and "on your own" rides lead by STO "regulars". There are some meals included, awesome local pie, and a poker run for good measure.

Announcing the recruitment of selected riders for the
Big Ass Scooter - Rockin' The Rockies Tour 2014

Have you dreamed of riding some of the most incredible roads in the world? This might be your chance. Colorado is filled with spectacular scenery, challenging mountain roads, eclectic small towns, dizzying elevations, abundant wildlife and much more. We are recruiting 10 riders, but are you, and your scooter, up to this adventure?

There will be two 'Rider-Hosts'. Both are avid maxi-scooter riders, certified as MSF RiderCoachs, have extensive knowledge of touring and Colorado routes.
The 2014 tour will start, and end, near Denver. The majority of riding will be on twisty, two-lane mountain roads. Elevations will vary greatly, but average above 8000ft. Some highlights for 2014 are Lookout Mountain, Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park, Mt Evans summit (over 14K ft), Glenwood Springs Hot Springs, Silver Thread Hwy, Peak to Peak Hwy, and much more. Altogether approximately 1100 miles of incredible views and technical mountain roads.

This tour is not gender specific. Regardless of man, woman or trained chimp we are looking for riders that meet the tour prerequisites for ability, personality, etc. Attendance is by 'invitation-only'. 10 riders are selected from applicants (with a few on an alternate list in case of dropouts). We will be hosting the Inaugural Roadkill Rally Sept 20th in Central Texas. It will be a scooter scavenger challenge where riders will ride up to 300 miles while completing scavenger tasks through out central Texas.
