Hey there Mr. Houseoffubar - I looked up your shop as you did some work for another bike. Wish I could afford sending parts back and forth to you. I also know a guy named Rod Brower with a great little machine shop in Woodenville.

Side note: I graduated from Bothell High.... Go Cougers! :clap

Awsome! This bike goes top three on my list of cool bikes. :clap
I have some questions about the subframe mounting. Why are the tubes "open" at the shock mounting points? and did you just weld a washer on the inside?

Thanks! Yes. The bolt runs through a non threaded counterbore type bung, through the eye of the shock and then through other bung and fastened with a nut. Nice and tidy.

Great to see this bike again.. just freekin' fabulously awesome!

I don't understand what is going on here....is this just part of that particular shock? If so, what is it? I've only seen canisters, either remote or parallel to the shock body.....

Hey bpeckm! Thanks. The shock is from an 07 GSXR 750. The danglers are the reservoir and dampener knob.

Hello, Renzo. The company I bought the battery from (E-Batt) is no longer in business. It's been great though. I installed it in late 2009 and haven't touched it since and never hooked it up to a trickle charger.

Others have recommended a Shorai brand Lithium-ion battery for when i need a replacement. Hope that helps!

Sparki thank you for your reply and I went on ebay to see the Shorai batteries but they seem much bigger than what you have installed. you could let me know the type of batt, specifications so nin wrong buying.'s right to know a little more I live in Italy in La Spezia, but your bike has struck me, it looks like a mine that I had to 16 years smaller cc but of equal aesthetic. hello soon, Renzo

Sparky, have you had a chance to ride the bike on some twisty backroads yet? It would be interesting to hear how it handles on a fast ride. If you have pushed the bike a little on a twisty road, it would be interesting to hear whether you think the handling is more or less stable than stock.

There is a very good thread on lithium batteries here:
Motorcycle Batteries .. AGM, GEL, Wet, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4)

I'm looking to use one in my project bike and have learned a lot about the differences in them. They are NOT all the same. Do a bit of research as it will pay off in selecting the correct one.

I'm also interested in the handling of the bike in a more aggressive ride. When you drop the front by raising the fork tubes thru the top brace you reduce the travel of the forks. I wondered if you bottom out on rough roads or moguls at speed. You put a lot of thought and work into the rear suspension to level it. I know others who have lowered their bikes and some have gone back to the standard height.

When you have a minute would like to hear your experience.
