    Hey Ginger ~

It was my riding partner's paper directions from the Houston Valley Ride, the last RR I posted. The paper was on his KLR tank and I made fun of him for having a scotch taped piece of paper for directions to the trailhead.

Believe it or not, that piece of paper stayed on the DR for a couple of months, thru the Clayton Rally and several other rides during October & November

Been over your way quite a few times, but always on the slab and almost always in a cage... Great writing and picture taking, thanks for sharing.:clap

    Enjoyed reading your thread :D

I wish there were better places to go daytripping like that here in Central VA. Keep having fun(and posting pics) so us city-dwellers can keep dreaming about the mountains!

:lol3 That's a great story. It forced me to read through your entire thread. :ddog

By the way the snake on page six may not be a rattle snake. From the pics it looks to either be a brown water snake (nonvenomous) or a cotton mouth (venomous). from what I can see of the jaw structure it is more than likely the brown water snake. Can't tell for sure without a face shot. Both snakes will mimic rattlers by vibrating their tail against brush, leaves, etc which gives off the sound of a rattle. Sorry I'm kind of a nerd. :D

Hey Ginger ~ Ya, I dunno what it was, I wasn't gonna aggravate that snake. I'm definitely not a snake wrangler.

I've got more rides to post. Glad you guys like!

Just finished catching up, most excellent!!

I am in the mountains on trails 4-5 days a week and only have met the "bad arse" snakes a couple of times, a bunch of "nice" snakes although a few blacks have been huge and not always happy to share their personal space.... Here are a few photos of a couple common visitors to our area that I met along the trail......., they are

    friendly
    mostly friendly
    give a wide berth.......................

    Cheers!

    I :raabia. You Tuna ;p

You're so silly. I went thru 2 different flurry storms to get to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. I have a couple of pics, since I was in a hurry to get here during 12 hours on the bike.

One day, I'll get my rear in gear for leaving at a decent hour to arrive at a decent hour
