I wonder what makes the rear door 22 400 lbs more than the front door 22?

It looks to have a tub where the front door one doesn't - can't see anything else major though

so i went and looked at the camper.
its a 22' rear door argosy
argosy was a line of campers made by air stream,
basically a painted airstream and they did some trial stuff.

it was pretty neat, worth the price @ $3k
needed some work, hadn't been used in a few years. structurally and mechanically really good. mainly a good cleaning, paint would polish up nice
rreally liked the floor plan, rear bath front cabin

like this but no air unit (bonus)

So did ya get it?! :lurk

I really like Airstreams & Argosys of that size but for the fact you can't tote a bike/ATV in them.

Okay, so now I want to build something that will be towable by a 4-cylinder Honda, carry a racebike, and have a place for my and my girl to sleep off the ground. I'm thinking adding some 2' high walls to the current trailer, and fitting a canvas top that snaps onto the walls with a couple arched tent poles to bow it up. Rig weighs about 900# currently, with bike, tools, and race gear onboard. I can reasonably go as high as 1400-1500# before it gets problematic.

    This should be interesting. :evil

Just spent most of my Sunday looking through that site. Very very innovative ideas to get the most out of a tiny space. Not sure I'm quite sold on cooking outside (gotta eat when it rains too!) but if a teardrop can haul a bike too I think that might be a good way to go.

Just spent most of my Sunday doing insulation work at a friends' house.

    He's a mechanical engineering student.

He's looking for a senior project.

The concept of building a fully functional, aerodynamic, less-than 800 pound toyhauler appeals to his sick sense of accomplishment.

I do believe I've found my accomplice.

Yeah, that is a pretty good idea, but not ready for prime time yet. It needs an integrated floor/deck, you should be able to lift or slide the camper off the trailer without disassembling it. And better interior components. Plywood doesn't cut it.

Nice concept though. I hope they can get the capital to fully develop it, and hire someone better at marketing, preferably a hot chick for the videos.

Definitely. Was at the track today, talking it over with a teammate. He's stoked. Doing lots of homework now on foam construction techniques. :norton
