thus the reason for a work crew comin in from the east...would be much easier to go back out that way than it would the way you guys came in and went out
Charlie, Bill (Toyman) and I are getting ready to purchase helmet comms systems that will allow us to talk bike-to-bike-to-bike, along with music and phone (if so inclined). There are a number of companies that have just come out with new top-end units (that allow 4+ bikes to talk). ALL of the companies use systems that only allow them to work with their own company units. We've researched the units available and have decided to buy the Interphone F5 (link and picture below for more information). The units are significantly discounted when sold in pairs ($450/pair) vs singles ($270 ea). We are going to buy 2 pairs. Since there are "3" of us, we are looking for someone that wants one also (and thus get in on the discount). Interested? First person to PM to me is "in" as the 4th. Meh, you'll use the communicators for a while then get sick of messing with them IMO. Back when riding sportbikes my buddies and I bought Chatterbox's. After the newness wore off, and you got sick of talking, and sick of charging the battery..they'll go back in the box. At least mine did. I like to ride and not think of other stuff.
I want them for my music....and an occasional phone call. Besides these have text to voice so I don't have to talk to Doc, just listen!
True for some, but these aren't C-box POSs. I've used my Interphone F4's for 3 years, every time I ride. My battery lasts for several weeks when just listening to music. I don't phone when riding, but music is awesome and contact in groups has saved me lots of stupid stops and is great for pointing out "scenery" and hearing directly from my sweep. FYI, they weigh 55gr (<2 oz). But, to each his own, for sure.
Rode Larry's VStrom today. Gotdern big bike holiness. Why them fuckin bike gotta wind up like that? Had that bitch whipped but only went 63. Shit I go 77mph on my XT. I think I just want a light-ass haul-ass bike. No heavy just go. Woods or no woods. Feh... Makes me also want to plan a looooooong ride out west with you nutso's.
You already are headed for a long ride out west....Lubbock. Which VStrom does Larry have (650 or 1000)?
Only that 650 but man that Suzuki was tight!!!..... Yeah Lubbock Too bad you and crew will be crusing through there to pick me up on our Mexico voyage
