There's a pair of bumper hanger/MC carriers in the barn. Too bad nothing has real bumpers any more!

...and I can tell you from personal experience that a Husky TE250 fits in the back of a 95 MB S-Class.

Its funny how they just loft those front ends...I guess that is the benefit for having a rear engined van.

    Thanks guys!

Oh, I definitely have more invested in it than what I am asking for it. I never have any illusions of making money on a project, I just try to do them right and have fun with them. :freaky

Ya it does, 4wd to boot. Tho if it's got the 660cc engine and low gearing it might be a chore to get it much above 50mph or so. I'd drive it tho!!

I hate to rehash this if it's already been covered, but I looked and couldn't find much so here goes: has anyone compared the econoline to the express/savana line? From what I've been able to find, the ford might be a bit more reliable, or at least cheaper to fix when it does break. The express looks to have a larger rear door and to be roomier on the inside, however I do not know if this is fact or just the looks. The express is also more modern and supposedly drives better. fuel economy seems to be about the same for each, given either the 4.6/5.4 in the ford or the 5.7/5.3 in the express. are the diesel versions really that much better (ie, worth the extra couple grand)? I will not be hauling much other than a couple bikes and gear, although I will be doing mostly long-hauls. I can't find any published fuel economy numbers for the diesel versions.

also, what is the preferred configuration for each, with the goal of being able to haul 2 bikes while still having 1 row of passenger seats? a friend of mine measured his 1500 express van out and found that it can have the 1st row of seats and still have just enough room for his bikes (R6, FZR, SV). Can the e-150 do that as well, or is the extended version required?

The ford looks to be cheaper to buy and much more common, but considering the roomier interior and more modern design of the express vans, I really wonder why most people end up buying the ford.
