Hi guys, was trying to post some pics of my new bike in one of the specific forums and at the bottom left side in the box it reads, " You MAY NOT post attachments." Why am I not allowed? Seems odd. :huh
No one is, except for certain limited circumstances like GPX tracks. It's a space saving thing on the servers, which are overworked. You need to host the pics somewhere else (Photobucket, Smugmug, Picasa) and then post links to them. There's a tutorial.
Thanks for the answer. Yeah I know I have to host 'em elsewhere. That wasn't the problem. The problem was that I didn't have permission to post them. But it seems to now given me it...I'm guessing new accounts must be active for a time frame before allowed to do so.
Is it time to change the FAQ section? It seems to say my CP should have a Pictures & Albums link ? From the FAQ As a member, you can create Albums of images that are linked to your public profile. Albums can be created by visiting the User Control Panel, and clicking on the 'Pictures & Albums' link, and then clicking on 'Add Album'.
Attachments are allowed. .gpx, .jpg, .jpeg. It would be helpful to know where you were trying to post.
If you are referring to my post, I got it done finally by linking to another web site that had my gallery. However I also posted above the info. from the Adv. FAQ section.
You can post attachments in the 'cute dog' thread. However, you must make sure they conform to the following file specs: A jpeg file can be up to 195.3KB and no larger than 1600x1200. A jpg file can be 195.3KB and no bigger than 1200x1600. I'll look at the FAQ (and the file sizes question-cause they're not the same and probably should be).
Thanks This is the confusing part. From the FAQ As a member, you can create Albums of images that are linked to your public profile. Albums can be created by visiting the User Control Panel, and clicking on the 'Pictures & Albums' link, and then clicking on 'Add Album'.
