Hello guys, I'm new here and I read a lot of threads about the SW(only good things), but almost nobody gives a details for what cc he's talking about. Mostly, people talk about the 600, but I am interested in the 400, because that is my driving license limit for my age here in Europe since 19 Jan 2013(from 18 up to 24 years old - up to 400cc). Nevermind that, is there any difference in the reliability between 400 and 600? Is the 400cc good enought for long tripping (my main interest)?
I will be glad to hear from some owners of the 400. Please excuse me if I've made some language mistakes.

    Congrats, Ivan

The 400cc Silverwing isn't available in the US where most of the participants here are from. As far as I can see a Silverwing 400 should be able to do just as well as the bigger one for long trips. I know folks do long trips on both the Burgman 400 and 650.

Is the 400 a twin or single?

A 400cc Honda is powerful enough and reliable enough to take you anywhere you want to go.

400 cc should be any problem. most of the people reading this started doing long trip years ago on bike and scooter that were 125 to 350 cc . Eg honda dream . 2500 to 4 grand buys a used one .

I have taken several long trips over 1000 miles on my Silver Wing. It is 600 cc
But I have traveled with friends riding 400 cc and 500 cc maxi scooters. The 400 cc performed as well as my 600 on the roads. One could feel the power was stronger in the 600 however on freeway, highway or byway we all road at posted speeds with no one left behind.
    Here's a Piaggio X-9 500cc and my Silver Wing

It's faster then a Burgman 400, and you could tour on a slower scoot too.

    Yessir!

Hopefully I'll be available when the time comes. :D

Until then, here's my Plitvice lakes gallery! :deal

    https://picasaweb.google.com/105893937491000655510/01092010PlitvickaJezera

    Only 94 pics there.
    :deal

EDIT: As you might be able to see from my flickr and picassa galleries, I went from a 72hp Kawasaki
to a 29hp scooter and it's better for touring, just not as good for cheap thrills.

a 400 honda is to me the empitomy if reliable communting that is easy enough yet has enough grunt, i used to do 480 miles a week on a yamaha Jog RR 50cc when I was 16, I am also 19 but I'm getting a Honda VFR 400R as I managed to do my license before the european change in law I wish I could get another scooter again for the fun of them.
