Thought I'd share this video by Moreno Pradas of the rebuilding an R100RS. If you like it, check some of his other vids. They really seem to portray so much of the beauty and soul of motorcycling.

I like the video, but that's a silly way to put an airhead together.
One of the best features about the airhead is that the engine and transmission can be removed with the bike on the centerstand and wheels. The frame will stand and balance on the wheels by itself. It doesn't require tricky jacking and balancing.

He should have put the forks and wheels back on before he started assembling the engine in the frame. With the weight of the engine and trans in the bike, how is he going to get the bike back up on its wheels? It's going to be awkward and is going to require help.

They are the same size as from the other shop. 70mm/7cm wide.

X2 on the BMW licensing comment - I don't think they license their logo at all.

Like I said, I enjoyed the video. Nice production. But as a how-to, it's lacking. Although the look of the shop displays a lot of experience with bikes in general, we're obviously watching a newbie when it comes to airheads.

    Dammit.

Now I don't know what to do first, buy an espresso machine or learn the metric system.

I wrote them an e-mail asking if they do any mugs with the BMW logo and preferably motorcycle related. Would almost think that a webshop in this category totally ignores any sort of license rules.

Yeah - but my understanding is that BMW is very aggressive on "protecting" their brand - have heard stories/rumors (can't confirm/deny validity) of them going after clubs using it in their design etc without permission.

I once contacted BMW looking for detailed photos of their Futuro prototype. They asked lots of questions about what I would be using them for and went so far as to send me a licensing form. Jeez, I just wanted to look at some pictures... Volkswagen is the same way. They won't let people use their logo or "VW" and other words like "Beetle" in advertizing... Too many aftermarket products they don't want to be associated with, apparently.
