    And here's a new AT-driver :clap.

I'm Bjorn from Belgium, 30 years young (or old?) and I'm riding a AT since sept. 2008.
I had a couple of TDM900's before ('02 with 75.000km and then a '05 with 26.000km) buth the off-road capability wasn't good enough for me :shog.

    So I bought a AT, 67.000km (about 42.000 miles), build in 1993.

I also do some circuitdriving, 5 years with 2 Yamaha TRX850, but i sold them together with the second TDM900 :evil.
Next year I'll drive a Yamaha Thundercat.
I also did some races with a GSX-r750s-rad in het 'no budget cup' (only bikes build between '90 and '99)

    Welcome Bjorn!

Glad that you, like others, had climbed the ladder into the AT world!

I like the color combination on your bike. Where is that dirt road? Its inviting...:evil

    Thanks

That dirt road is in France. The French border is only 20miles from here :evil. But I'm sure the roads (= off-road) in Puerto Rico are much better then here :cry .

    Hey everyone ......

K, so I'm being lazy and just posting here, instead of surfing around ....

With the upcoming transforg-i-mation of Copperhead, I've thought about replacing all of the screws / bolts on her for the plastics, etc.

1.) not only to get rid of the rusted ones ......
2.) but to make them all a uniformed type. Be it Allen head, or whatever.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for a website to go to that carries a set in the proper size(s) ?

    Mucho thanks ..... :thumb

For all the plastics? What I did I took a sample of each and visited a nuts and bolts store. Yo may do allen, but there is also torx. The advantage with allen is that you may use the ball type wrench to do those that can't be reached straight to it. But, I'm not sure, I there are not round head allen bolts that are prefered to be used with the plastics...just a thought!

There are kits for the engine but you need to go to .de or .fr.

If I see something, I'll let you know...but probably there are others here that have the answer...

Did you get all the parts?

    Hey, Hey .....

Yeah, I saw the engine bolt kit on ebay.de and I may do that as well, but I'm first going to deal with the plastics. Taking a sample in is a good idea! :thumb

As for my plastics ..... no. not yet. :bluduh
I'm hoping it's this week or next .... and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing gets lost, or broken in transit. Funny thing is, is that I also ordered a dash cover for my RD04, like North Rider has for his RD07, and it was from Germany as well.
It got to me in like 11 days.
This upcoming Thursday is the 3 week mark for the plastics .........

Remember me if you want to sell the copper tank. I am having no joy what so ever in actually winning an auction for one.

Dont worry! My MRA took more than 30 days coming from DE...and the tank and plastics took 30 days exactly from France.

The RD03 front cowl is bolted from the subframe the cowl, so ordinary 10mm bults will do. The ones that fix the cowl to the side fairing are crome wide rounded head phillips. And the ones that holds the side fairings to the tank are allen type, not the twist type. It came like that, so....

I did not received the srews that holds the tank to the lower bracket, so I looked around at Peps and bought abolt and a threaded clip. There is also the ones for the small plastics that goes along the fairings top edge, but these are covered by the side fairing.

Did you ordered the dash in an specific color or plain aluminum?...I will send the one I did to be powder coated in non glossy black because sometimes the sun reflection blinds me...uh.

Everything you need is from here. You have to do your research though. Stainless 18-8 is best in my opinion.

    Thanks for the reassurance ......

The Dash Cover - from the person I ordered it from - only comes in the plain alum. But that's o.k., cuz my plan is to take it in along with the bash plate to get both of them powder coated in flat black.

We're kinda lazy here and went to the local ACE hardware store, purchased the appropriate 5mm & 6mm stainless phillips panhead bolts and this has worked well for all the plastic etc.
Figured if we broke down a phillips diver is always available!
We used czus fasteners from a honda atv to hold the plastic to the RD04 tank, been working for 10k miles ok.

Also remember when putting a stainless bolt into aluminum, use antiseize, if you don't the two disimilar metals will fuse together and when you take out the bolts the threads will come out with them:D
Do NOT ask how we know this:cry
