Did Nix ever get back to you? Just an FYI...she hates talking on the phone, so text is best

Yup, we've been texting. Want to chat though. Maybe easier to call you? Will try to chase one or the other of you down next week.

Next weekend would be great...we are doing some real simple off-road stuff Sunday near us, but I know she does not want to be held to a specific time. She had 5 days of early cases then has to be in Ashland for a class tomorrow. I know she doesn't want to be any where on time Sunday.

Managed to get new rubber on the rear (TW302) of the WR along with replacing the Speedo corrector.

Every time I change a tire, I remember how much of a pain it is.Why does it seem so much harder with tube tires?

Thanks guys....Dan, Chuck, Todd & I headed West today....early start for me but 'lectrics kept me toasty to the meet up spot, Sheetz Powhatan on 60...we did 56 to Montebello, BRP south to 60...snow in the shadows but no traffic and warm temps, very nice little cruise...then we peeled off 60 into the GWNF enroute to tower road etc etc...then we hit Alhambra road to Shoe Creek for some boulder fun but we only went in as far as the second water crossing....nice lunch at the Mountain View Market to cap it off...anyway, some pics I took :ricky I think Dan may have the action shots.....

Stripping off gear just off 60...I think Dan had his pants on at this point or not...

Dan, Mike, Todd .... Thanks for a great ride today. 300+ miles of pavement, twisties, Parkway, gravel, dirt, rock and highway. It was a pleasure. It was a little cold starting out but the day turned out to be perfect. The only regret was not taking my GoPro.

Tower Road once again took its toll on us. Another bent rim for me and two big hits to the skid plates on Todd's GS and Dan's DR650. Todd did a great job keeping the big GS right side up while Mike and Dan made it all look easy.

The low point of the day was riding back home on hwy 56. Just before Wingina VA there was a very bad accident involving a motorcycle. It looked like a group of sport bikes. Thoughts a prayers go out to who ever was involved. It didn't look good.

See you guys at Poe's in the morning then its off to the gun show. Have a great weekend everyone. Be safe.

Thanks to Chuck for organizing my first of many runs up Tower Rd and a short run around Shoe Creek. Also to Dan & Mike not only for their input, but the great pics they got along the way.

Next trip out we need to stop at that Thai restaurant or maybe it could be Fridays RTE ...

And yes Chuck we need to have the riders and their families involved in that accident in our prayers. Very somber 30 or so miles for me after passing the accident.

Thanks guys and I hope everyone has a safe rest of the weekend.

Fun ride today and great weather. Weird riding through snow when it's 70°F. Couple action shots.

If you missed Chuck's reference, it's supposed to be really nice tomorrow. Come to Poe's for Bikes in the Bottom.

On a semi-unrelated topic, I'm meeting a friend for dinner somewhere near VMP on Monday night. Anything decent to eat down there? Petersburg? Suggestions welcome for local cuisine.

    Thanks
    Chip

I durn near killed my bike today. Came off a water bar with a little air and landed directly on the corner of a rock ledge with the skid plate. It jarred my bones. Looked down expecting to see a puddle of oil.

Caved in the plate pretty bad but by some miracle did not bust my engine case.

this use to be a small access hole for oil drain and that plug used to be safely recessed up in there. :eek1 Just a hair to the left and that would've been the end for this motor. Still no sign of seepage, think I dodged the bullet.
