Crap! Here is the MAP (GOOGLE MAPS, NEW VERSION) For the Kansas (Peru/Sedan)Trials site. https://www.google.com/maps/preview...04!3d37.0890127!3m2!1i1107!2i801!4f13.1&fid=0
Link didn't work for me either, just brought up the base Google map. So I went into the address bar and copied out the Lat/Lon numbers and pasted into Google. That came up as south central Kansas. Why didn't I know of this stuff (trials riding that is) when I was going to school in Pittsburg?
Ill work on it, because it used to work perfectly, and of course it is actually showing fine on my PC... it is a small "directions" map from HWY166 at Peru, to the trials site gates. Maybe if I did a screen shot instead, lol. Looking to find mapping alternatives, google sux now. Ok I have this new website I found, we'll see if it is accurate enough? Site is, http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html According to that site, I placed the marker at the gates, this is what it gives me: Latitude - Longitude: 37.101192,-96.122882 and Lat: 37° 6' 4.2906" Long: -96° 7' 22.3752"
I plugged in the numbers and ended up in China. I'm looking at it thinking WTF?!?! Oh! Duh! Put the - in front of the 96!
I put the vacation request in for the Arizona event. At first they were giving me a lot of grief for planning something out 10 months ahead of time. Then they realized it was for 2015. :huh The way I have to do my vacation requests there are a dozen people who have to approve it (actually it is automatically approved unless someone declines it). So there are a dozen people all asking me if I have this right. The good part, no one has a schedule that far out yet, so no one can say "NO". It all came back as "accepted". I have an approved vacation.
I had trouble finding the Peru Event last time. I suggest a map in Word and converted to a pdf. My map for the ranch has contact phone numbers, GPS, detailed written directions, and a scanned and pasted zoom-up of the DeLorme topo atlas for a visual of the directions. There is nothing better than DeLorme topo atlases for maps. Here's the Kansas map: http://shop.delorme.com/OA_HTML/DELibeCCtdItemDetail.jsp?beginIndex=0&item=150§ion=10096
