Out of curiousity, what would symptoms of carbs not in sync be?

    Well, to be fair:
-- I do ride a bit like an idiot.
-- All my miles have been in the city
    -- I'm insanely huge: 6' 11" tall, about 300 lbs!

Friday ill be doing some proper highway miles, and I'll let you know how it goes!

My friend, you have no idea. Get the 15. I'm 205 and had one when I couldn't get a 44t rear anymore, the bike was unreal. The 16t doesn't even scratch the surface in comparison.

For me it was really bad fuel economy, rough running and hard starting. It got so bad that the bike wouldn't run at all, but it was something I didn't notice while it was happening, until it had gotten well past the rough /hard running/starting.

I also had an exhaust leak so I'm not sure which of those conditions was causing the really poor fuel economy.

Thanks for the reply. Mine is getting a tad harder to start somedays, and I often wonder if its in need of a carb sync.I get pretty good economy though, 43 mpg average so far. Over the winter I plan to remove the canister shit, (install tkc 80s, dr beans fuel pump mod, new clutch slave, check valves and finish my skid plate) and I was thinking maybe I should clean and sync the carbs up as well. Couldnt hurt I guess!

Where are you guys getting your 525 15 tooth sprocket? I wanna try one!

To be more accurate, he didn't mention the SE, just that the Adventure and the SM use the same part numbers. I guess FMF it is. ln about 2 weeks.

After putting new rubber on the SMR this morning, I checked the wheel bearings before balancing the wheels. One of the rear wheel bearings is going bad. No complaints after 51K miles. I ordered two bearings and will have the local shop put them in as you need $300 worth of special gear puller/bearing pullers for the job. So no 950 for a week while waiting for the parts to come in. Hopefully it's good to go for next weekend.

Yes, I've been running Mobil 1 15W-50 for the entire life of the bike. I have used the Rotella synthetic in the winter because it's a little lighter. The only time the bike ever got Motorex was when the shop (Euro Moto in Wexford) did the service.
