A lucky Lotto punter has won more than $20 million dollars after buying the winning ticket from an Invercargill stationery shop.

    It's been awfully quiet........

What a fucking joke! It has taken over 2 bloody hours for which I'm paying for to up load 10 bloody photo's to my SmugMug.

But If I don't go through smugmug I can't then put them up on ADV!

And I'm paying $40 pa to be a member of Smugmug!

    Err!!

Anyway lets see how it goes.

    Start of Dansey Pass
    [IMG]

    starting to climb
    [IMG]

Drizzling rain, like tis almost of the day
    [IMG]

The northern end/start of the Hakata
    [IMG]

Top of the Pass looking back south, which I had just come through, some bloody bastard had pinched the sign:cry
    [IMG]

But things were looking good the way I was heading

Monument to Mckenzie, it is faded, but I think he might have been a bushranger, it seems to say he was captured here, but escaped the same night. I'll do some research. Generally it was those types who knew the land.

Heading to Arthurs Pass, after the fog.

BTW that black clump in the middle of the road is not a vehicle, its a group of trees as they do down here, to provide protection from the wind. I try to take photo's without other influences, but my camera couldn't distinish it, strange!

Final photo's coming over Arthur's Pass
    [IMG]

and into the Westland, or should that be the Wetland

Hope you enjoyed, have lots more but Smugmug is not being kind. I say that politley so as not to really piss her off.:D:D

It's a bugger about the weather but you now know why everything is pretty green over here. Hopefully it'll get better weather for you.
    Bike looks good too.

Have you tried one of the free pic hosting sites like photobucket as a backup to smugmug? Or is it just a daggy connection?

Have fun on the trip north. If you do get a slot in the Dusty Butt in January we are sailing over 12 Jan & will be touring & camping through a few cool places where you definitely haven't been yet on the way down.

    Cheers

Any pics I want to upload to ADVrider I put on my Facebook page/wall, whatever you call it, then onto ADVrider. Any pics I then don`t need, I delete from Facebook.

Not sure what I hate the most, Facebook or Twitter, imho you are crazy to use either, you are leaving yourself wide open, may as well tell everyone where the backdoor key resides.:D:D

Chris, downsize your pics to less than 500 kb (about screen size) before loading them to Smugmug. Things happen much quicker that way...

Pics don't need to be high res to display on screen (on ADV forum).

Chris upload speeds are always slow especially if you are on free or remote wifi or on a mobile connection.
Or as Dave said use a smaller file size - either set by the camera or through the computer photo program.
    Smugmug is working fine.:deal

I suspect that it may be a case of user or settings trouble that is causing your grief.

Thanks for your suggestions, but I have just realised that I'm meeting 2 friends tonight at the Lake Ferry hotel, another favourite place to stay, and both are computer guru's, Don is the senior Professor of IT at Adelaide Uni,and if can,t help, no one can.

What I don't understand, I having been doing the same way for over 5 years, usually with a dongle, as I dont have a landline, have not had one for almost 4 years.

Ummm, that's not photobucket's problem; I've used it for years without drama. "Problem exists between keyboard and chair" as we say in the trade.
