Did you and Jonathan ride off somewhere? Where did you go anyway? Motorcycling for Profit? How does that work?

Zero difference to me in terms of grip, but when it gets that cold I'm not running nearly as aggressive on the road.

Speaking of pedal bikes, I've ridden 94 miles so far this month.I got 75 or so in February. Just wish I could feel a little wind in my hair and coast down a hill.Hope the weather breaks soon, it's hot in the gym.

Difference between what? Knobbie vs street, cold vs hot?

Cold vs hot. Knobbie vs 50/50 or even a better street tire is a heck of a difference.

True knobbies work best after you slide into the ditch.

It really depends on each individual tire model as to what will grip the best in a certain set of conditions. Just looking at tread design leaves carcas and rubber in the air and they play a big role. I will say that I air down my street tires in cold weather for a bigger footprint and faster warm up.

You lost me, zero difference, big difference?

There's a difference just in the styles (families) of tires let alone between them. Meef just had issues with his Tenere solved by a brand change.

When I swap to the Pirelli MT90 Scorpions on the 950 it takes me a bit to adjust but throw any knobbie on and I feel comfortable.

The Transalp has never had full knobs and the 640 always knobs so they always feels the same.

If anyone is interested in riding in the very near future...

I need to get to the Holmes County Fairgrounds to pre-run a gravel road race course for the Amish Country Roubiax. Rumor told, the follow cars on the layout got stuck and had to be drug out backwards. Some of the roads are narrow and washed out with ruts. 2 guys ended up with 5 flats using cross tires.

I have no idea what to expect.

You lost yourself there Mike. No diff in temp for my dual sport tires (50/50 or more street oriented). Huge diff in knobbie vs the more street oriented dual sports.

I am almost always up for a ride. I may be able to be a follow car too depending on the date. Let me know.

I have nearly a foot under the differentials on the 4Runner. That plus the lockers and I would hope I would be ok. It does suck putting the bikes on top of a truck lifted 5 inches though.

I was about to ask that. Just think of it as 3 390s taped together.

That's the only pic they had, and of course, I want both.

390 to replace the 640 for dual sports, put a rekluse in it for TGorman and the 1190 so the 950 can be retired from road duty and retire to the dirt.
