That is heaven on earth Jeff!

    BTW, looking for a 3 or 4 wt , 4 piece that is 7 1/2' to 8' long.

All of the rods at Bean are 9' or 10'. Looking at an Orvis rod that is $395 and that's about top dollar for something I am going to strap to the back of a bike. I have a great 9', 4wt Loomis, but it's a 2 pc. Suggestions?

Your prolly looking at the Access. Not bad, but not truly a mid flex as the advertised. The Superfine Touch 7'6" 3wt is the small stream winner if you'd be willing to go the extra hundred.

One of my favorite low dollar small stream rods is the Echo carbon 7'6" 4pc.

    http://www.rajeffsports.com/echo_carbon.php

It retails for around $170. Actually feels better than the Access your looking at.

BTW, anything shorter than 7 1/2 foot is a novelty.

    Thanks, I'll take a look.

BTW, when Orvis came out with their short 2 wt, I had a chance to fish it. IIRC, it was 6 1/2 feet long and calling it a novelty is a complement.

If'n you guys make to Wi for some stream fishin, I do know a couple areas to grab some trout. Nuthin big mind you, but decent fishing.

I deer hunt just south of Boscobel of of 61 a couple miles. There's a coupla streams that run through the area that hold some fish.

Some of the finest fishing I've ever done was in small streams in the Blue Ridge that you could damn near straddle that had brookies that went 10" to 12" and were an absolute blast on super light spinning tackle or a 2 wt fly rod.

I'll bring the gear, catching them is a whole other other story.

That's why they call it fishin' and not catchin'!

    From Consumer Reports

"There are already 32 states that ban texting, although only 10 states have handheld cell-phone bans.

On July 1st, West Virginia will enact a primary ban on handheld cell-phone use, which means police officers will be able to pull over drivers for only that offense. "

I can attest to my AT&T not working most of the time at last year's Laurel Fork event.
    Thankfully I had my SPOT!
