After swimming thru Somoto Canyon, I was craving steak. I found this steakhouse and had an ok steak.
Here is a picture of the armed guard watching my bike while I feasted on my steak

That night, I camped at Masaya Volcano Park.
There was an active Volcano with the crater billowing toxic gas about 2 miles from my camp

    Here's a shot of Ometepe
It is the twin volcanic island in Lake Nicaragua
I was going to take the ferry over to the island with fellow Adventure Rider Max who I met along the way at the docks.
But we missed the first boat because they packed it so full with big trucks, they couldn't even fit 2 more bikes on. Plus there was no way of trying the bike down and I was afraid my bike would tip over. It was very choppy on the lake

I am at a cool little beach town just a stone's throw from Costa Rica now.
Going surfing in the morning and then going to figure things out from there

I need to get a boat to Colombia soon
    Any suggestions?

Yes, I checked in to that. They are sailing to Cuba now, not Colombia'
If I can't find a way around the Darian Gap, my trip south might be over!!!!

I got pulled over here in Nicaragua
I made a pass over a solid line
I have only done it a million times before
This time I did it right in front of the police
I have done it other times
Sometimes the police even wave me around
    Everyone does it
    You kind of have to
Some of the trucks drive ten MPH
This time the cops were pulling lots of cars over for doing the same thing
To my surprise, he didn't ask for money
He took my license and told me to go to Rivas (the nearest town) & pay 300 Cordobas (about 13 dollars) to the bank, brink back my receipt and I would get my license back
So I did it, and got it back

    No corruption here
It actually made me kind of happy
    I broke the law
    I got caught
    And I paid the fine
I just wish I could have paid forward the next 3 times I get forward so I can keep blasting my way south with having to stop at the bank each time

Had a few "out of country" tickets. When shopping for insurance back home and they ask, had and tickets lately? Hmmm :lol3

The border crossings seem like a buzz kill. What has been your favorite country so far?

    Maybe Mexico
It has incredibly diversity and history
Belize was kind of a let down but I missed the best parts.......the islands and the mountain pools. And it is very different than the Latin countries......more like Jamaica
Guatemala is right there at the top. Like Mexico but on a smaller scale
El Salvador is a cool little country but make sure your host has paid its dues to the gang otherwise you might end up in a crossfire
Honduras doesnt have much to offer unless you head out to the Caribbean side
And Nicaragua is very cool too. Its the least expensive, has by far the best roads and seems to be very welcoming
Two more countries to go and then I need to figure out a way in to South America

Awesome, having spent time in Nica, keep your guard up there....there are some pretty rough areas, and unlike many other countries down there, the locals are armed... Don't ask how I know :D

I am having trouble finding a way to get my bike to Columbia
I might have waited too long
You guys that are checking the other riders blogs, what are my options?
There has to be another way besides the sail boats to get your bike over there
    Can I take a plane
    Ship?
Please, if you know some other way or if you know of a boat that is leaving, please let me know what you know.
I figured that part would be easy
