Kelly, Did you clean the jet that is at the bottom of the secondary carb? It is a funky set up - as I'm sure you know- with the feed tube leading directly into the jet. It could also be a vacuum problem as the secondary main needle is actuated. The synch isnt too bad to time as it is manual. Just set the secondary to open when the primary is 7mm open (I think its 7mm) ( there is an adjusting screw somewhere inbetween the bodies.) I fought with mine for months trying to get is right...only to find out someone had put xt550 carbs on it.:huh Bought the right ones and BAM I was hurting myself in no time <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
I think they will end up fully open together, it is when the secondary starts that can cause a step in the acceleration curve.
So, For the last full year I have had my TT just sitting in the garage... Just nowhere to ride with out loading it up and ponying up some bucks. Not my idea of an adventure.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> <o></o> So, The Mrs and I packed up the little ones and moved to NC where it is still hot as all get out, but the dirt is quite a bit more accessible, just out the back door to be exact.<o></o> <o></o> I have put more hours on the ole girl – the TT6 you pervs – in the last week than the whole previous year.<o></o> <o></o> <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 /><st1:State><st1lace>I’ll</st1lace></st1:State> get some action shot in the near future…Here are some “aftermath” shots. <o></o> <o></o> Please excuse my attempt at creativity. <o></o> <o></o>
Hi, My Misses has had up to here of New York. Now she is talking about moving to N.C.!!! So, maybe we can ride together!!:eek1 Let you know! Nice muddy TT 600 by the way!!
Hi, Got done with foot!!:eek1 Now both hands need a tune-up. Right is done, 2-3 weeks the left will be done. Anybody riding? Rode my TT600 just about 5-10 minutes today. Runs good.
Re-soldered some wires and took my TT600 wannabe for a spin just to check everything was still working. I think it is but may have to check again tomorrow.
I've been getting parts and great advice from you guys for more than a year. I took a ride yesterday, and a camera. The '84 600 overlooking Rifle, Colorado.
Nice photo. Do you cut off the rear loop of the frame?? And your headlight is not stock? TT600 Power!!:eek1:eek1
Hey Big Ed, The rear loop on the frame was gone when I bought the bike and the headlight/number plate say Yamaha. Got any idea what they might have been stolen from? Kelly.
Rear fender, my be a XR 400 fender, front, need a front shot of the light. Do you guys get snow anytime now?
Hey Ed, Although we can get snow this time of year, afternoon high temps can still be in the 80s. The elevation here in town is only 5400 ft. The pic I posted is around 8500 ft. That make a noticable difference as far as temps and snow depths. I took a look at the fenders on the TT. They are both Acerbis. Enjoy your weekend, Kelly.
I was riding my '84 TT600 a couple days ago, and my choke button got stuck in the out position. I fiddled with it, and rode for a while, hoping it would come unstuck, but hasn't yet. Any inmates got advice on how to unstick it besides tearing apart the carb? If that's my only course of action, what kinds of things should I be looking for when I tear it apart to help keep it from happening again?
You can take the assembly out of the carb without taking the carb off the bike. I think its a 8 mm nut that backs out. Just go slow. And clean it. Good Luck!!!
