I originally wanted to put an inner tube and tire repair stuff... but a tube wont fit, so i got some tools, some bungee straps, if you are real creative you can stuff a cargo net in there for those impulse purchases you make then realize you rode your bike to the store. I got my insurance card in there... I try to keep it lite...
I bought a two each of the large and the small from Agrisupply to save on shipping. I used the large mounted with 5/16 U-clamps that I fashioned to fit. Round is not quite as effecient as a rectangle for my needs so I am looking for a box that will fit my sockets mounted on a rail with hex head bits on a rail inserted into the working part of the sockets . About 4''by2'' by 12''
So what have you done with the holes in the official agri-supply operators manual tubes? I mounted them on my top case as seen below, and will be using them for fuel storage. The holes are on the mount-side, and I assume it would not be ideal for water to get in. Any reason not to seal them? Pics: I wanted to paint them like rocket boosters, but that sounded like work. Decided on the Buell pegasus instead. Anyway, holes: sealed? Unsealed? Also, loving the reflective tape idea.

Nice job with the custom welded bracket! However, you lost me with the clunky Master Lock and the cable. I don't have mine locked up with my tool roll in there, and I've never had a issue with theft. I say forget the lock!
I m think that lock tells me there is something in there that i might want to take.. and truth be know if i want that tool tube that lock aint gonna stop me.
Very happy with the results, repurposing the Vario Case clamps to attach the tube! This is by far the cleanest install option I observed in other posts while doing my research. I also went ahead and painted the clamps flat black to match the bike and blend in. I'm very happy with how solid this install is! I used some 3M black reflective tape on the screw cap for extra visibility (might as well, it blended in nicely!)
I wonder how many of these they have sold since the Moto world identified it as a near perfect tool tube??? I cant belive there were many buying it as the Tractor Opertaion Manual Canister it was designed to be? (the manuel graphics wipe off with a little laquer thinner by the way)
Yep, first thing I did when I took delivery was wipe that ugly lettering off! Cant believe how many people just leave it on there....
I bought and installed a tool tube on my dual sport bike. It lasted a whopping two days before breaking! What a piece of shit, it even felt like it was going to break early when I installed it. But though it only needs to last 2 weeks. I'm trying to get a refund, not that it cost much but out of principle. But the email address that I got thru paypal or on the website are invalid.
