There are some cool new mig style welders out for doing Al and Galvanized metals but they are pricey. Talking $2000.

Once we got into Knox County, it became a good ride. We wasted a bunch of time on paved roads in Licking county, rode a powerline trail that seemed to end in a person's lawn, and finished up riding gravel in Knox and Coshocton counties. I really need to ride over there more and learn the roads better, trail boss I am not.

We hit Bats Nest and Stone Quarry (rode both of them both up and down), and they were almost boring because it's so dang dry.

You can use a stick welder with 4043 rods. I'm sure there are other special welding rods, but those are the only ones I've tried. It's not in anyway a neat/clean weld, but it's cheap, and I'm pretty good with a grinder cleaning up.

The signs use adhesive to apply the 3m, welding would fubar all that

That sounds sort of like what happened to me. I broke my shoulder blade last year in April from high siding the KLR. It was about midway during the cabin fever ride. :( I was following some dirt bikes without brake lights and they missed a turn and then decided to slam on the brakes. I was looking off to the side of the road at the time and didn't noticed them stopping right in front of me. I hit the crappy brakes on the KLR and locked up the rear tire and slid about 20 feet before I high sided. Of course it happened so fast... I finshed the race in last place and then road all the way back to Troy in hurricane force winds. Then went to hopital...I was riding again in two weeks though...

Then in August I low sided the KLR on a wet grassy snow-mobile trail and broke two metacarpals in my right hand. I had a cast on for two months... That's when I started going back and watching all the footage of the videos I took and started making videos. ;) At least I could look back on the fun I had before the injuries... ;) Now it's kind of fun making the videos just for the hell of it. :D

I almost didn't recognize bats nest and s. q. for how dry and clear they were. Still, s. q. is just an awesome road.

    Little action sequence:

I rode mine home, must be user error. :deal

    :lol3

Very nice bike, easy to assemble and has the magnetic resistance so it's smooth not like friction resistance bikes. As a side note, anyone looking for a recumbant stationary ride for $50, let me know. :deal And of course a video is born.
