    Yep, just the battery
A good mechanic told me once to rule out all the simple things before you dive in to the complicated ones

    The location wasn't bad either

There is this "hotel" on the beach that has these little cabanas built in to the hillside.
    No one was staying there
Can't be more than a few pesos a night
    What are you waiting for

There is this crazy little beach town near by. It's called Zipolite. It has a big beautiful beach lined with hotels and restaurants. And when I say hotels......don't think Alcapulco style hotels. Many are just 4 walls and a roof. Some are nicer. I found a bed could be had for as little as $4 a night. The most expensive hotel is $100 a night........and that hotel has a restaurant on the beach that was rated by Lonely Planet as the 2nd best restaurant in all of Mexico. And I tried it and it was really that good!!!!!
But Zipolite has a little of everything.
It is mostly occupied by hippy tourist looking for a beach, some weed, cheap beers and inexpensive accomidations
During the day, the beach is kind of a quasi-nude beach. What the hell........Even I dropped trou!!!! When in Rome................
I have been going there to do some body surfing. The water temp is in the low 80's I am guessing. It is really nice and fun.
During the evening, everyone comes out on the main drag in town and hangs out at all the little bars and restaurants. The people watching is great. Lots of dreadlocks. I saw one old dude with some young Mexican chick. I saw a couple in their 70's that looked like they just stepped out of woodstock. Everyone has a story to tell for sure.

Here is the main drag in Zipolite. In the picture, you can see the little Mexican scooter I have been riding. I have been getting braver on it. I am ever power sliding it around some of the dusty corners here in town. And I can say this out loud because I know the scooter's owner has done far worse to this little gem of Mexican engineering.:D

I had one of the best pizzas in my life on the streets here in Zipolite this evening. They called the "Mixta". But I think that translated into "meatlovers"
It was made in a real brick, wood-fired oven
    Yum!

You expect taco stands here in Mexico
But what about real gourmet food?
    Yep, it's here
    Mexican's take their food seriously
At this one restaurant in Zipolite called La Provendecia, the chef is very serious.
We saw him sampling all his sauces made to order. I saw him get made at his su-chef. And I never saw him smile once. He was too focused
Here's the beef medalians and shrimp at about $15 a plate

My favorite thing to do here is watch the sunset and have a shot of my favorite tequila.:freaky
This Cava de Oro Extra Anejo is stunning. Too bad its all gone now.
BTW, one negative about this place is it seems like it is always on fire.
    Mexicans here burn everything
You can smell the smoke in the air. It is really quite sad but it make for beautiful sunsets

Hey Wayne......good to hear from you
Trust me...............there are times I am thinking that this RTW trip will turn in to a one way trip to Puerto Angel and just stay here
But I am actually doing some research to see where I am off to next
I have some Inca and Aztec ruins to discover and some volcanos to climb
And I am bonding with the scooter. I just hope it doesn't re-bell and toss me off the high side doing my powerslides
And what is a rumble tow?
Next time I want you, Kevin and Terry here. Wouldn't that be a blast. How long do you think it would be before someone wound up in the hospital????
    LOL

That is the point I am trying to make
    Anyone can do this
All you need to do is jump on your bike to get here
This place is real and it exists. It's not a place that only exists in books and stories.
    It is waiting.
    I am proof
    I am here
And it is everything I was hoping it would be and more
Ok, gotta go hit the waves

In Hualtalco Mexico, there are several little beach communities to check out and each has its own personality
Here in Puerto Angel, where I am staying, it is mostly a working town wiyh a little beach and proteected bay. The fishermen go out each morning to catch fresh fish each day. There are lots of little taco stands, some restaurants and some markets to buy stuff. It mainly caters to the lovals which means prices are good. There are not many tourist here which I kind of like.
Then the next beach down is Zipolite. It is the biggest beach here and has the most places to sta and eat. You can rent a room dor as little as fout dollars a night up to about a hundred. it also has sort of a night life on the main street in town.

the next beach down it is called San augustillo. it is the smallest beach here but it is also 1 of the prettiest. there are plenty of places to stay right on the water. the prices maybe a little bit higher than Zipolite but it has more charm and is more laid back. I found 1 hotel right on the water had rooms at 20 dollars a night.
the next beach down is called Muzunte. this speech is a combination of the 2 other beaches. it was 1 of my favorites. all 3 beaches had a hippie clientele. people came from all around the world to frolic on these beaches. I met people from Italy Argentina and Uruguay. I think most of the Americans are afraid to come down here but I see no reason why. I have never sent any sort of danger why traveling to Mexico. but I like to make up stories how I am most got killed by the Bandidos to keep other people away from spoiling my favorite beaches. so please stay away this town is very dangerous and you'll probably be killed if you come here. I will gladly sacrifice my life so I can bring you the pictures and stories from the comfort of your own home
