Husaberg 70 Degree Owners Thread!

Nope the clutch lever is different to most ktms, its only common with the sxf, the brake is pretty standard though but its nice to have a matching pair. i did ask asv but they said there wasnt sufficient demand/market to put into production

cut down, grind, sand and polish?

I did that with a broken KTM lever years ago and always kept it as a spare.

unfortunately they wont let you ride in competitions in the uk without the ball end in place, I've ordered a pair of those midwest cLevers from the earlier link

Why? Worried about it penetrating something important?

The reason I know about the levers is a lot of the guys I ride with, on KTM's, use them. They rave about the clutch lever specifically and how it has saved them from arm pump on long enduros and D/S rides. I put a Rekluse in my 570 so I ended up not needing the clutch lever, so no first hand experience. These guys are all B/C class riders and swear by the clutch levers.

Hmmmm.....that is interesting. Never heard of that but then again I have never raced an AMA sanctioned event. I think that is a pretty flaky reasoning. Who uses the ball as a reference point? I know my two fingers are at least 2-3 inches in board of that ball. And how is your hand going to slide off the end of a forward angled lever? I would be more worried about coming off the top, not the side.

I have often cut the lever shorter to keep them from contacting hand guards without any sort of accidental release. Oh well. Like those Midwest levers! May have to try them out after I buy a Cush hub, 70 degree tank, and vstrom. Wish I could find that money tree!

14/45 is my sweet spot too on the 570, can chug in 1st right from idle all the way up, I'd rather modulate the clutch *very* occasionally on tough single track than ring out my motor on the highway to get there. I have a 13T and a 48 but haven't bothered swapping since I first bought the bike and was experimenting.

Did you need to do anything to accommodate the 15T or will it fit on a stock setup? I wouldn't mind trying 15/48 for long ADV rides to see if it helps with chain wear since I already have an Ironman 48.







Ignoring Doctor's orders I took the Husa for an epic 25 mile pavement ride yesterday, it felt real good to be back in the saddle and of course I chose to ride the Mighty Husaberg for the first ride after the crash.

During the down time I traded my lowered suspension for identical but stock suspension, spent some time getting the preload just right I am very happy with the new feel.
Soon my precious... 2 months until we can get back in the dirt to really see how it feels.

Hey Finn, 15 t c/s will fit but the cover will not go over w/o mods if at all.. You will love 15 /45 on the hiway ,cruise @ 70- 80 mph it loafs along barely working.. i ended up going back to 13/ 50 because for my usage the gap between 1st & 2nd was too wide. That said the trails are 10 mins from my house & I run full MX tires so I dont see much hiway.

One of these days I'll have to try out the 15/48 combo to see how I like it, I'd imagine it should be very close to my 14/45 setup that I like, but possibly with less chain wear.

That supermoto set up sure looks like fun! Might get myself in trouble with that though.

Tried the 13/47 out yesterday and really enjoyed it in the woods. Tried a 4 diamond trail for the first time on the Berg and it was a lot easy then when I tried it on my Honda 450. Got cocky and confused myself with Graham Jarvis and tried a 5 diamond. Actually made it through everything but getting over the logs, roots and rocks really wore me out. Bike did great. Fan stayed on but the bike never flamed out and the clutch was easy to manipulate over the technical stuff. Gonna go back and try it again when I get the trails tire and it is not the end of the day and I am wore out.

Did have a couple of issues though. Put on higher risers and fueled up with some older fuel. Took it down the street and it popped and bogged out. Warmed up and stopped. Went riding and it did it again a couple of times but stopped after it warmed up. Always restarted easily. Still feels kinda weak right off throttle but pulls strong after that. Maybe bad fuel or something in the stretched wiring for the dash causing a short? Thinking the gas?

Also the bike feels like it has an increased amount of engine braking/drag. Very on/off feeling thru the flowing singletrack. Hard to coast and makes the bike jerky feeling. Seems like when I pull in the clutch it goes away. It did this the whole day. Any thoughts?

And finally, order higher risers and the anti vibe inserts from Highway Dirtbikes. When the package arrived I realized that I ordered the wrong risers. Sent an email to HDB and Derek called within an hour. He got me set on the right part and rush shipped it to me and just asked to send me the others back when I could. No extra charge! This was last Thursday evening, got the part a day and half later Saturday morning. Awesome service! The inserts took 60-70% of the handlebar vibration away!

This is an older video of the 5D that wore me out. The trail is much more rutted out, deeper roots, and crazier rocks now. This video makes it look a lot easier than it is. That rider is also a lot better than me! He did it in a tenth of the time it took me. Trail needs some maintenance. Still feel pretty proud for making by myself.
