Funny you should say that. The sales guy - an acquaintance of mine whom I know to be a Tenere-rider and not a fan of Honda (he was stunned I bought their VFR12 awhile back ) - described it as "shockingly smooth", and said it was noticeably quicker and easier-handling than the Goldwing, too. The one thing I still can't believe: it doesn't come with cruise control, and he wasn't showing that it was even a dealer-installed option.:huh
I just read the deluxe model has some nice options like heated grips and others but didnt mention cruise. I think it looks really nice for a cruiser and you could log some serious miles. Only 62 lbs lighter than the Wing.
Cortez: Dude, you gotta be either schizophrenic or bipolar. Or both. And the rest of you mopes stop posting Guzzi pics. I have a perfectly good F800R that I've had for four months, and a Daytona 675 I'm trying to sell to make room for something two-up capable. Stop it.
You know, jd, there's something profoundly "In your face" about that bike. But I'm not much for cruisers. Naked bikes, yeah.
I'm normally not a cruiser kind of guy either. I find I have to make time to keep the ADV Loaner Shadow exercised and to go out and play with the Moto Guzzi EV that I'm storing for a gentleman from the Netherlands, but for a two-up slab burner, that new California 1400 certainly looks enticing. The demo units are supposed to hit the dealers in March and April. I'm looking forward to a little seat time on one. jdg
Thanks for a truly laugh out loud moment on the intertubes this AM. I keep going back and sitting on the one at the local dealer. The one that has a sign that reads "do not sit". They're cool bikes in the flesh. I can see how an HD guy would find one hard to resist. This could be the best model year Honda has had in a long long time.
Because I am afflicted with "Hey-Look-At-That!" Syndrome, I find myself looking at a new Kawasaki Concours more and more... and more.
Better looking in the flesh. Local dealer has 4 on the floor. I'm smitten even with it's drawbacks, no ABS or cruise.
Hokay! On that candid admission, I can back you up on it...at least until/unless somebody does a good job of making fun of it. Yeah, I suspect it'll leave a Harley well behind. What Goose is that? Breva 1000?
What's the local Honda store these days? I bought a few bikes at Hawkeye Honda about 100 years ago. And enough with the cruise. Get the bike and a set of Throttlemeisters. Call it good. Geez. I do get the ABS bitch though. I'm still a little bent that I couldn't get it on my ZX-14R last year and it's available this year.
