As appetizing as the idea of a bunch of bikini babes bending over one's bike and washing it clean from shield to tire sounds, I can't help but question how good of a service you actually get from such an... "Event." I'm very particular when I wash my bike and do not like water spots or *gasp!* dried soap spots. I wash it thoroughly, dry it and detail it before getting it down and dirty again. So has anyone ever been to one of these bike washes? How did they do? Another thing to note is that it's being hosted by a local Harley Davidson dealership (who are very friendly) but I wonder if these are open to all bikes and what kind of looks I might get when bringing mine in. Any tips, experiences or stories appreciated!
I have never done one but whenever you go to any car/bike wash you are not paying to have a professional detail job, you are most of the time supporting a group or charity and the fee/ recommended donation is usually pretty small. That being said if you are anal about being thorough and are expecting your bike to be shinning like new you might be let down. But if the bikini clad girls are hot enough let them wash it just for your entertainment then go home and finish the job the way you like it.
A bike wash with bikini babes is to see the babes. If you want a real wash job, do it yourself or take it to a detailer.
Started reading, and after the 2nd sentence thought to myself: this guy must ride a GS. Looked to the sig and sure enough. Some stereotypes are just true.

After 5000 miles, rain, and dirt roads I finally paid my 5 year old to wash my motorcycle. Best $2 and glass of chocolate milk I've spent so far this year. The tiny hands can really get in around the cylinders and clean. Bike washes are to support single moms and other groups...
I thought it was a Harley guy until I checked the sig line, I have a GS and the first post quite honestly embarrassed me a little.
God gave man hands so he could clean and polish and do as he wishes with his hands. If we judge we may as well organize groups and start burning witches again. You fix the grammar they don't let allow my witch burning family in school anymore.
Every bikini babe would wash my bike better than I could. I'm just not good in cleaning things. Sadly I never found a willing one...
Wow, this thread is awesome. I'll take my GS out through highways, byways and trails. It's currently sitting with a layer of mud on top of a layer of bugs. When I DO wash it, I clean the living crap out of it and try to get it as perfect as possible.
I wish I was in Phoenix right now. I would take my KLR over to get washed. Would I get any respect from the Harley guys? No. Would I have fun with the girls?
You never said it was really dirty already. In that case I wouldn't trust the bikini girls not to scratch the paint with their rags. Still I'd go to the bike wash to watch the action,,leave the bike dirty and park real close from the clean ones. I did that to some very clean Harley guys recently, one of them said: Don't you ever wash that bike??? The kind of comment that usually brings out the haters on here.... I kept talking with him, turned out he owned an R27 and an R50, his bro an R100GS and his son an R80G/S.
So you're that guy that hangs out at all the fund raisers and watches the girls. (BTW, sounds like you were actually taking to BMW guys - not the same thing at all)
