Can I "think" that I can go 100 miles with no worries on the stock tank? What is the longest distance guys are making it? Thanks

Like most questions, the answer is "depends"

Many guys here average about 55mpg, but charging hard on full knobs, I'm lucky to get 90 miles to the tank.

+1. I have had fuel light come on as low as 76 miles indicated.

It's just a cheap hard tail cruiser bike with a cheap 66cc engine......

I bought it used from a guy off Craigslist and slapped some CORE stickers on the gas tank....I bought it on a whim as a CORE novelty/Joke......but I also bought it because it gets hotter than hell out at my vacation home in Bullhead City, AZ. .....I'm just going to leave it out there.... cheap rig to transport me to the river, convenience store, etc. in flip flops without breaking a sweat from pedaling a few miles......beverage in left hand/throttle in right hand

You can snag engine kits for ~$150-200 on the internet: http://www.kingsmotorbikes.com/

Here's a video installation tutorial on UTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbKul89GGTU&feature=related

I hit 28.6 top speed on the flats per my GPS .....so it probably hits ~35mph with a more reasonably weighted rider .....you simply pedal 10', release the clutch lever, and bump start the engine.....

I figured you folks would get a kick out of it since I (we?) already take a bunch of crap from friends for riding a 250cc Dualsport as opposed to a bigger 400+cc bike......whatever........screw'em :lol3

I am a pretty agreesive rider so from the sounds of it 100 miles is a lot on a stock tank. Might need to grab an IMS.

TAT last year, 8500 miles round trip; DID Gold and Ironman rear sprocket. No visible wear on the sprocket, and no adjustment on the chain during the entire trip! How can you get any better? I did wear out the countershaft sprocket (stock) and replaced it in Moab.

That was my first thought, & knowing that for 90% of it's life at least it has been adjusted right to spec, I unbolted the shock & stroked the rear suspension through to the point of max chain tension to check that the spec was right. It was fine.

    Cheers

    Me Likey!

Sandman Freedom case-saver & guard in wrinkle black powder coat finish.

Would be nicer-still if bolts were painted black, but I am pleased regardless. Better protection for engine case, ugly plastic gone, visibility to seal guard and sprocket, and a tasty little bit of decoration, all in one.

    Thanks Sandman!

Is that washer staked into the flat on the countershaft? Hard too tell from a pic, but there looks to be air where there should be metal.

    Thanks for asking.

I have never looked carefully at an unmolested WRR sprocket. The original owner installed this one.
The flange on the nut is bent into the slots on both sides.

I think this how it is supposed to look, isn't it?

After looking more closely, I can see that a new nut should be used along with new chain and sprockets.

I'd peen that sucker with a center punch a little more. I've had mine fall off before, and it was peened well. Loc-tited this one and peened the shit out of it.

I swapped out a 14T for a 13T this evening and was quite surprised to find the big nut was barely finger tight. I remember tightening that sucker really well, and peening the hell out if it as well. That was about 2 months ago. I'll be keeping a closer eye on it from now on.

I'm still working on my new/used bike and could use some info please.
What is the temp that the fan is supposed to come on?

And at what temp is the meter head overheated light supposed to come on?

This is the last part I need to check before I can wrap it up.

    Thanks for any help.
Bye the way, I could not find this in the manual or tech manual.

us canadians get excluded from all the fun. this seems like a similarly sized bag, if you type "cadpat" into google there is a bunch of surplus stores for canada, plus our military makes better gear :D
