Italian Baja is on, no way for me to go there :cry

anyway you can check the live timings here
    http://rally.ficr.it/body_stagetimes.asp?p_Anno=2014&p_Codice=80&p_Manifestazione=1&p_Gara=3

bikes are split in two main categories, World Cup and Europe championship, so you have to check both to see all results. Yesterday's short stage was dominated by Cominotto, as I wrote a very fast enduro racer. On the other way Ruoso had a little fall and received his Honda only a couple of days before the race, so he would improve day by day.

In a about hour second stage is on:deal

Both Ruoso and Manuele sufferd some falls, the winner even a little accident with a car during a liason, while both Zanotti and Zdenek had a strange problem with brakes.
Now let's see if Cominotto will try with other Baja races (here in Italy we really need some more fast racers like him), while Ruoso (signed with Spanish Massoni Team) hopes to try with some rally raid too:deal

Good result (6th overall) for Manny the roving reporter. :D
And Zanotti (on the fully rallye spec TM) with a 7th :clap Including a 10 minute penalty (? :ear)... so his scratch result (pace) would have been good for a 4th placing otherwise... that is impressive for a full (35 liter capacity?) Dakar spec bike... against the other baja/rally lite enduro based machines! :clap

Are there any pictures of Lucchese's bike?
Was he on a standard WR?

Yes, interesting that he's not campaigning the YZ that they were developing but instead riding a WR.

Hey friends, it was great to be back racing after such a long time!!!

the race was really fast with a total of 290km of special stages amongst the 3 days. I rode a completely standard WR with a 11 litre tank meanwhile my team mate Federico tested the Safari 18 litre tank and was so positive about it that he will use it also in the next races. This is good news because this is the tank we are mounting on the Yamaha rally version i am developing with Yamaha Italy.

Here a photo of the young 19 year old Federico Zurcher that is racing in my team. It was is first ever Baja and absolutely loved it!!! We might consider going to the next round Baja Aragon if by july we find enough sponsors to cover the costs. PS. Federico filmed with his GoPro great part of the special, i will upload it in these days and then share it with you!

So Bolivia is reporting an $80 million profit as a result of hosting Dakar. Kinda makes Peru's squawking at $7 million look a little short sighted unless of course the rebuff really was about payback for being excluded from this year.

wow and the cars and trucks didnt even make it there.. guess Im totally wrong about income from the race in the host countries...

on another note Guerlain Chicherit wadded up another car... it wasn't a rest day at Dakar but a ski town in France..
