The issue with the Nuvi 1490 - as well as with most other 'car-type' GPS's is they have built-in hands-free capability. So, the device these GPS's can connect to is a mobile phone - only.

OTOH, a GPS like a Garmin Zumo supports connections to Bluetooth mobile phone **and** a BT headset. You really woulldn't use a car's GPS with a headset, but instead you'd use the built-in speakerphone. With a motorcycle specific GPS, the GPS acts as a bridge (gateway in BT speak) between phone and the headset on a Zumo or other motorcycle specific GPS.

Your Nuvi only has the phone-side of the equation :cry

Reading this over again Adam. Was wondering why then the 1490 will connect to a bluetooth headset then?

Ordered a Dual kit! Can't wait for it to get here. If I had had this a few weeks ago, I probably would have been able to tell my son to slow down just a bit before going too hot into that left turn - and having his first little "incident" on the Rebel. I love being able to communicate.

But then, experience - even of the bad sort - is valuable as well :evil
