I need a set of soft bladders that can be tied together like saddlebags, the lighter the better (2) 2 litre bladders would be nice Thanks
I guess it's two milk jugs tied together with my boot laces Oh well, won't be the first time, but I sure did invision some nice bladders that I could sling across my tank.
I have used MSR fuel bottles in tank panniers and that worked quite well, no danger of breaking them if you crash.
Good looking ride I'm already packing three 33's, but I'll be in Northern India/Nepal and some of the locations I want to go require more petrol than I can carry in the small cannisters not to mention that they take a lot of space. I'll be riding a Indian bike, a Bajaj 180 and larger tanks are not an option,.Tte upside is that these bikes get great mileage, but when you head north there is no quarantee of available gas for the return trip so I thought of a bladder, I've seen folks use them in South America but haven't been able to locate any in either the states or India. PS: I'm willing to rig if anybody has any viable ideas Thanks
there's some pictures and information about "collapsible fuel cells" in THIS THREAD Most of the places that make them won't have small bladders on their websites/catalogs but you should be able to call and special order them in any custom size you desire. If you find a place that will make them post the results here. Also, don't forget to ask if they'll do a discount for bulk orders

This might seem like a weird question to some folks, but what is wrong with the cheap 2-5gal fuel containers? Ride a while and then pour their contents into the tanks, then ride on...maybe too simple, or that they don't cost enough?
When you need them for two or three sections of a 10000k journey they are a hassle. Also they don't take kindly to offs. The turtlepacs for instance are much tougher apparently. rossco

How 'bout Snapple 1 qt bottles or Listerine Mouthwash plastic 1qt 1pt containers. I like the Listerine jugs they're flatter. Both are tough and gas resistant with wide mouths for filling.
If I remember right, the group that did the Angola ride report (http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=269251) used those plastic / mylar? liners from the boxed wine containers. They are designed to contain alcohol already. They did some testing on these prior to their trip with posted results.

Just Gas Tanks was selling these for a while but they had so many problems with them ...and lack of support from Australia they gave up on them... I dont think anyone here sells them any longer.. but they will ship them to you straight from Australia.. at least they would 6 months ago when I emailed them..
FWIW,,,,, I have one of these after it was recomended by a couple travelers. I used it once and the smell of fuel permeating from it is terrible. So I asked the guys that recommended it and was told that they also experience the fuel smell. Just a heads up in case anyne is considering one. PS If anyone is interested in mine,,,, I'll make you a good deal, but won't ship it with the smell associated.
