Thanks again, I made a little measuring template from what I could gather from your measurement and some other pictures I have found on the internet and from what I can see is it may fit by a "C" hair If at all from what I can tell, so you saying there is plenty of room is reassuring, If you get inspired could you take some more pictures around the QS3 installed? maybe I can get a better visual idea to compare.
Don't quite know how to copy and paste a thread, so I just wrote a little ditty on the "XRL returns for 2012" thread.
Maybe go through the safety switches? On the left handlebar there is the one on the clutch, check that. I would also check to make sure the kick stand switch isnt broken or disconnected.
yes I do, however, I do not have the stock pipe and I'm not getting any feedback from them as to the aftermarket pipes it works with. I am in Kenya and have talked with some very skilled welders who are going to do a gusset for me as well as the support arms. After the trip, I'll probably remove the arms but still have the gusset for long term added support.
I had thought seriously about it, but had little/no feedback from you guys about which aftermarket pipes it works with. I know there's no guarantee outside of the stock pipe, but any more info would have been helpful. At this point I'm having a local fab do it for me custom. I did order up a few parts from you though and look forward to fitting the top rack with my pelican case. Wishing I had ordered up a few of your bottles now as well for fuel.
It really all depends on your COG. I don't think Honda took into account the COG forces exerted on bikes over 600cc while in the Western Hemisphere. If they had, they would have quickly realized that the gravitational forces are equal to the centrifugal superfluous variable that occurs when driving over 30 mph. They likely used km.
Zulu, ManRacks sells CigarStruts (aka SpudStruts) and they clear my FMF no problem. See them on the bench under the rack. RZ Rob
YO! TECHFORLIFE! Your burning daylight. Outa da sack Jack. Oh, am I typing TOO LOUD for you this morning?
Thanks Rob. I was actually set on doing that, and then after a conversation with a few other guys, just decided on local fab. I honestly don't recall the reason, but that's where I landed. Thanks for the additional feedback on that though.
The other option in rack mounting is to keep the load off the sub frame entirely. This mount attaches to the frame where the sub frame attaches and places no load whatsoever on the sub frame. A very light set up and the CG of the carried load is very low.
So, I've got a list of things that I'm trying to add to the bike right now. Here they are. 1. Vapor Dash 2. Cig lighter/12v output plug 3. Heated Grips 4. HID Projector lights with Angel/Demon (I wanna hook these up as running lights) My question is, I want to have these connected to the key on/off and not direct to the battery. The open center slot in the fusebox has nothing connected to it and is operated by the Key. So in theory, I should be able to pull power out of that and arrange a separate Fuse Box for my accessories and run them. Right? BONUS QUESTION On our rides, the LOW BEAM is technically the running light. However, I wanted to not use the lowbeam and use the angel/demon eyes as the running light. But since the left controls only give us an option for HI/LO any thoughts on how I could do this? P.S- Im adding a huge dash along with my Rally Raid fairing so got plenty of room for switches etc. Here is the wiring diagram and link to the HID kit http://www.ktautopart.com/product/showproduct.php?id=212&lang=en http://www.ktautopart.com/product/showproduct.php?id=212&lang=en
Oh i`m up........had to get to the liqour store before it closes..... Now i gotta go finish stuff the FCR in,,new grips......cables....... wanna come over and drink some beer Fritz.........i can show you my new helmet B
This more or less mirrors my experience with the pig... I added a shim, went to a 52/155 combo with a UNI filter and no other mods at a 5,000 foot elevation. Much too rich, dropped the pilot to a 50, removed the shim, and left the 155 in place, PERFECT!
I'm currently running the 50/152 jetting with the shim and it is running well. My riding is between sea level and 4,000 feet.
