So is anyone planing on heading for this, this weekend? I actually have the weekend off, from work that is. Alot of family stuff going on though. I really do not have the spare time to grab this one, plus I am kinda leary about taking too long of a trip with the Hawk right now either. Just don't want to run it into a grave too soon with the rocker arm noise.
Carter (my son) wants to ride too. :(:

It's going to be a bit cold overnight but I'm mulling the possibility of going after this. Have the route there mapped out but still researching a good tag location in Bertie county. Figure that if I go I'll get the grab and place the tag in the same run.

That was what I was thinking but it is just not to be. Headed out to pick my car up from the transmission shop. more $$$ not spent on the bike. :cry Guess the bald rear tire will ride a bit longer. Then a Halloween party at a friends for the kids and a stop over at the parents.... you get the picture. And this is my only weekend off for months. :(:

I will make time for the Bladen one though Bruced or not.

I really want to go get this one. Just afraid it will kill the Hawk.

This rider is uber occupied with school. Unfortunately I don't see any full "free" days to make a distance run coming until mid Dec.

Well the battle with the Nighthawk is over. :cry She has succumb to her internal injuries after the oil filter failure. On the trip into work tonight she started knocking and loosing power. Guess the old girl has had enough. I was hoping she would hold together long enough for me to get the XT all straightened out and on the road but it is not to be I guess.

I was really hoping to get the Bladen Tag when it made it there but I have 2 broken bikes right now. But the time frame this one is standing I might be able to get something back together by then. :lol3 :lol3

Bummer! Hope you get back riding soon.

So who else around here might be interested in getting the Beaufort tag?

Museum, City Hall, and Police Dept. in Belhaven, NC. Unfortunately, I was running pretty tight on time, and didn't get to visit the museum, which I understand is pretty cool.

    Next tag coming soon....

Thanks, Ray! It was a great day for a ride, but did get a little chilly on the way home. Had about an hour and a half to go after the sun set.... Glad to be warming up finally. :D

I tell ya, I was surprised at the many great roads in that neck of the woods. Not all flat and straight like you might imagine. Some real sweet curvy bits, and of course some great scenery.

    It was a good ride.

So since you were close by...did you get a TAG shot for Bertie county just above that grab?

Yep, I got it, but on my camera vs. camera phone, and I kept forgetting to bring my camera in from the bike. Downloading them now. Be just a few minutes.

I had a wonderful ride through the eastern part of Our Great State on Friday, and without a care in the world, stumbled upon this cable ferry.

    Tag pic:

Note that tag pic is taken from the North side of this expensive river.

Also note that the approach to the ferry from the South is on easy, well-groomed roads. The approach from the North is just fine as well until the last 50 yards or so, which was mostly underwater. Water wasn't deep, and as long as you pick your path through you should be fine. My FJR did get a little sideways in one spot, but it wasn't too bad. I do recommend dismounting and walking through the mud puddles to find the best path. Water was only a couple of inches deep.

    Good Luck!

It's nice out today. Sorry it took me so long to get this posted. Hope ya'll are all enjoying the beautiful weather.
