I beg to differ, a lot of trucks pass through Port Augusta Saturday arfo, the eastern transport companies heading to Perth to be there Monday morning. If you leave Adelaide 'after the morning rush hour' on a 250 you'll be smack bang in the middle of a lot of trucks heading east west.

Must be Sunday then, when we travel up to Coober Pedy and Whyalla we always seem to have less traffic south of Augusta if we leave later in the morning, have noticed this more on Wednesdays, but memory a bit jaded today, could be the Sunday as well, but don't listen to me.... Kipo lives there.. He should bloody well know!:D

Just notice a lot of trucks through here on Sat arfos. Also, I used to work for a company that owned Mozzies Truck stop at Ceduna and Saturday evening was one of the busiest times, Port Augusta in the arfo, Ceduna by evening.

    Hi All,

Me and a few mates are planning an Adventure ride from Eudunda through to the Gawler ranges and looping back.
Anyone done a trip to the parts before that can recommend a route.(preferably 80% dirt.) Will be approx 6 days.
I am not really familar with this area as I always blast up to Ceduna on the blacktop in my car.
Done a few searches and have not come up with much.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Tell me about it Con, I'm currently ripping out & replacing the kitchen ceiling & cornices, putting in a complete new flatpack kitchen & new appliances, new skirting boards, re plumbing & re wiring everything, polishing the floorboards, ripping out the old a/cond & bricking up the hole in the wall, hard plastering & then painting the ceiling & walls, I'm so over it, would rather be out on my KTM somewhere..:knary

Option B is to get to Gawler as mentioned then up through Tarlee, Rhynie, Auburn, Clare, Gulnare, Gladstone, Wirrabara to Wilmington then take Horrocks Pass to hwy 1 just south of PA. Slower trip but fewer trucks and not as batshit boring. The Hwy 1 motel at PA has cheapish rooms if you want a roof over your head.

    I balance my own.

With rim locks I use screw on spoke weights.
