From the looks of things on the tracker, the bikes are at the start and the cars are right behind them. Everybody's congregating in one place which I assume is the start of today's stage. Okay, it looks like everybody is congregated in one spot. What are they waiting for, it's nearly 11:30 AM in the morning.
looks like everyone has gone direct to the fuel stop. I am guessing the weather is really shit down there limiting the helicopters from getting up in the air. It is raining really hard in Dubai and the direction of the wind is from Abu Dhabi. they will wait at the fuel stop until a further decision is made to continue with the stage or drive direct down the highway to the camp like we did last year when the fuel truck turned up late.
Yep that is right. Dust storm. We all at PC1. They will make the call in about 20 mins as to whether the bikes start.

From Pal Anders Ullevalseter's FB-page "Day 1 stage of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge has been canceled due to bad weather. Desert rally was hit by a storm passing area and due to high winds made the organizers unfortunately had to cancel the stage. Today's stage was much asphalt and straight roads, so in that respect Pål Anders is happy that he'll start as number 39 in the morning (desert stage) instead of on asphalt. On the phone from Abu Dhabi he announces a good mood and recharge for good results tomorrow!"
