This looks really good. An adventure scooter that can keep up with traffic here in the 'burbs. With the price of gas going thru the roof, I think this may be my next bike: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelhome/608/0/home.aspx
I like. I'm been looking for a used 50cc Zuma or Ruckus so I can add a scooter to the stable but I'd wait a few months for the Zuma 125... There's a lot more scooter riders on the streets here in Vegas...no doubt due to the price of gas these days but it's scary watching the relatively slow 50cc scoots in traffic: They stay so far to the right, even in the outside lane, the cagers are literally lane-splitting with them. A Zuma 125 should have no problem keeping up with traffic. The TMax looks pretty interesting too...
Its amazing that those sell for $8K here. They are 9200euro in Europe, which is about $15K US at the current exchange rate. They make a cool sound, that's for sure.
I started drooling when I saw this on the website. I think one will have my name on it, maybe next year or the year after. I like the fairly bare-bones styling, and I like the fuel injection (if I never have to deal with another carburetor again, it will be too soon). The only dealbreaker for me will be if there is insufficient leg room, like some little scooters have. The Vino 125 is ok, so as long as the big Zuma fits in a similar way, I'll be owning one at some point.
The 50cc is a great bike. I ride one on a daily basis (it's the Jeep's support vehicle). I was considering the 125 but will probably be moving into a dual sport bike and keep the scoot as a daily driver. In California the 125 is still not freeway legal and I will be looking at something that can do a bit of freeway work when I need it.
Scooters freaking rock!!! Unless you live smack dab in the middle of a concrete jungle, well, the minimum displacement I'd go with is 125cc. And that Zuma is sa-weet! Hope you get it, ride safely!
I ride the Honda Ruckus and does 40 flat road 45 downhill 25 uphill, but it is just a joy to ride. Speed depends on your belly size.
I'll race you. I have a Zuma. I can beat you up the hill, but gravity will give you the edge going down. I can do 35 mph up hill. I am wondering at that 125cc engine. I've ridden in rallies with the Vino 125 and it could only go up a hill as fast as my Zuma. The rider was larger than I am, but you would think it could do better than a Zuma on any level.
Yeah....I can't figure that one one. The Agility and the People both have the same engine. The only difference is the People has bigger wheels and is finished a lot nicer. The Agility is really bare bones, but all the requsite components are there. The People 125 is also heavier and my big size 13's will barely fit in the footwell. I have plenty of room on the Agility.
This little bike is so cool, down here we don't get the 50 cc version, just the two stroke 125 cc!!! Damasovi
The price difference, besides content, is that the Agility is made in China and the People is not. I actually like the Agility and it is on my short list. But I like the Zuma 125 a lot more and would gladly pay an extra $1000 for the Zuma. There is a Yamaha dealer very close to me but the nearest Kymoc dealer is about 40 miles away.
Whoa! I went and test rode a Genuine Rattler 110 this past weekend. It was a nice scoot but I may have to wait for the 125 Zuma. FI four stroke and a better dealer network make it more desirable, at least for me. So when should we expect these in dealers? Late Summer 08 or Fall 08?
So.... Am I the only one who is creeped out by the old dude in sneakers they used in all the 09 scooter pictures :huh
Noticed that too... Did you watch the video? Meredith is a hottie. The Smiling Yamaha dudes are creepy though.
I don't see the old part. He needs a little sun. With an untucked shirt, relaxed jeans, and skater shoes, he certainly isn't dressed like an old dude. But, why are the people selling the scooter grinning, but the guy riding it isn't? I think a visit to the dealer in the dead of winter '09 is in order. Me likey.
