10 Best Motorcycle Roads in US?

Not US, but have to mention the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. Wow.

I'm sure a few of these have been mentioned.

Hwy 36 in California from Red Bluff to the coast may be the best motorcycle road in the US.

Though the 2 lane from Hanksville to Hurricane Utah may give it a run for it's money. It goes through so many National and State parks and monuments I lost count.

The Blue Ridge has to be up on anyone list. Try it in the spring when the dogwoods bloom and the tourists aren't around much.

Any of the Alphabet Roads in the driftless area of Southwestern Wisconsin will blow you away. Every county has thousands of miles of paved roads winding through the farms, hills, valleys, coulees and little towns and we owe it all to milk.

Hwy 26 from Copper Harbor to Eagle River Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. Curves and incredible views along Lake Superior shoreline.

Goodness, I forgot the 36! Add the 85 mile highway 211 down to the coast then back up into the mountains and through Humbolt Redwoods State Park and you have the most scenic trip on the planet.

Man, this is becoming interesting. What a bunch of great ideas for future rides. Makes me want to ride them all-someday.

No particular order for the rest but I have to vote Hwy 1 as numero uno.

I have to say one of my most favorites ever was the road between Watson Lake and Whitehorse at speed: 258 miles of perfect sweepers(and no Mounties):

That's a sweet road. Reminds me of some roads in Austria.

And I'd like to second that the Alaska highway is a boring motorcycling road, and it's mostly not in the US. I mean, the interest isn't the technical aspect of motorcycling, it's the scenery.

My absolute favorite road right now is Vanocker Canyon Road. It's mostly sweepers and isn't real technical but it sets my heart on fire every time I fling the KLR through it (so long as there aren't any Harleys in the way )

I am amazed a rider would call the Alaska Highway as boring. Apparently you drove it with your eyes closed. Agreed, alot of it is is Canada, but over-all as a ride it is pretty nice in my book. The part in Canada is also some of the most beautiful but you know that already.

The road is mostly straight. Pretty, yes. But a "motorcycling road", no, at least, not in my books. We have more entertaining roads 20 minutes from where I live. As long as we're permitting roads in Canada, the Duffy Lake road between Lillooet and Pemberton is full-on fun on a dualsport bike. Without sufficient suspension travel it could be a nightmare.

Yes, the Alaska Highway is straight at times but also takes you through some of the most remote areas in the US . That is my idea of a great ADV road. Technical no but are far as a accomplishment, that is what I meant as far as top ten. So I understand what you say. Everyone has a differnent idea of what makes a great road.

I wouldn't presume to have travelled enough mountain highways to claim to know any of the top-10 in the US, but I have ridden quite a few of those mentioned in Arkansas, some in The Smokies and a few in The Rockies. I would say my favorite was probably Black Canyon of The Gunnison, but the Million Dollar Highway was pretty good too, as was the road (whose designation I don't recall) heading East out of Taos. Have also been on a lot of great roads in Northern California and WV (all by cage). My very favorite roads are not in the US.
