Good write up wide, not that I'm in the market for a TA as I'm happy with my XTZ, but your comparisons make a good read
Cheers, there isnt much between them, in reality, is there. Did forget to add also the new Ten has the best lights out of the 3 for riding at night, only because the twin headlights on the Ten were a joke and the TA wasnt much better
Yes, it's a shame they had only two 35watt bulbs. I have not bothered to look into upgrades as I have no real need for major night work and I know led lights are improving all the time so just need to wait and add a good set of led driving lights that have good spread and distance, but I'm expecting to much
Hey all, iv had an old 96 XTZ for about a year now and have only recently got a job to gather some funds to get her on the road.. got most of mechanical problems sorted and am now looking at more basic things like crash bars, but iv looked everywhere and cant seem to find anyone that manufactures them for the old teneres. Just wondering if anyone new where to get a pair?
The ones on mine were bought from a seller from Belgium who regularly puts them on UK E bay. Hepco an Becker ones good fit and about 120£ if I remember, but once on to do maintenance is a right PITA if you need to have the fairings off
There is a trick to service without complete removal of the H&B bars, but its still a PITA. I have though about modifying them to allow easier removal, but don't have a welder, I'll keep that idea for later I have found that having loaded saddle bags is a good way to stop damage around the front end. But that also comes with other disadvantages
G'day all, Great to see the thread is still running. My question today is....has anyone fitted a centre stand to an old 96 model Tenny, if so, was it a genuine part or after market or "modified". Cheers Cooky
I got one from offtheroad.com.de, not sure if they still sell them due to limited demand. Not cheap but well worth it, took a lot if fiddling to get it right
Would love to, but the time off and cost is a killer, got to look at buying a house down here at sunny coast so need to be careful with $$$. Let me know how you go sourcing a centre stand

Hi friend! Iwill be very glad if you visit our meeting. to friday we will be in Romania ,around Mounti Bihor, afterward on Makó. Is the Roman Tenere klub actív?
My Ténéré just before departure to Luxembourg :) I also have a question for you guys, what do you prefer, hard of soft luggage on your Tenere?
Hi Bowler You have similar luggage arrangement to mine when I spent two weeks on my Tenere. I personally prefer soft luggage but have not used hard. I find soft takes falls easier. Thats a huge tank bag, does it fit ok, what brand and model as I am in the market for a new one
