I'm still not sure what I am going to do on the counter top, either way it will be set for what ever I put on it after i cut the sink in.

DD we need a build thread with pics!

I have one going over on snowandmud.com. Unfortunately you need to log in to see pics. Maybe I'll copy it here so its accessible to the world. Or i could add it to the Hino thread.

Edit: you asked for it, here it is!

    Cool DD!

    Plumbing day!

First I secured the the water tank with blocks and a nylon strap.

Then I prepped the water heater with Teflon tape and a 1/2" barbed for the water intake.

I drilled out the shower cabinet for the water line and gas line,

And smoothed out the edges so there were no explosions...

Mounted the shower cabinet to the front of the trailer,

Then the shower in the cabinet,

    Done mounting!

    Plumbed up the sink,

No hot water at the sink for now, just "t" the hot and cold together.

    All set!

I also spent 2 hrs on the back doors, My plan for a door knob did not work. First thing is that the door would not close all the way so I had to grind out a section of the closure pins, then the screen door latch I bought wouldn't work. Not sure what I will do.

Rule #1. I have never followed a trailer conversion thread before but NO ONE doing bus conversions every stays under budget.

Rule #2. Some of the things that you used, like a Fantastic Fan, are better quality than the cheaper alternatives.

I'm actually pretty happy with the budget, I have done everything I wanted to and have kept with quality items throughout.

By the way your all sworn to secrecy on this here budget....Sister Mary Margaret thinks I spent $500 and did some "trading" to get here...hopefully she never figures out internet or I'm a dead man. :D

Ok, down to 2 choices on the counter top, 1st one is Zinc that my roofer friend will bend up to cover the top.

Or this Formica, Micro dot black.

    Opinions please!

I wanted to finish the back doors with something but don't have any more diamond plate and not enough FRP but figured if I cut the sheet I had in half it would be close.

So there will be a 3 inch space around the outside.

I'll paint the border with the gray paint that I used on the beds.

The black will show EVERYTHING that is ever on it, and be hard to clean.

But a question on the Zinc, will it "contaminate" any food products that are on it?

I would lean towards the metal top.

Take your dimensions to a local metal shop and they can cut and bend a stainless steel top that will slide right onto your plywood top. Done. Good looking, still silver, easy to clean.

I don't know about the zinc maybe the black would be harder to keep clean food wise. I'll stick with my earlier suggestion.

I was quoted $200 today just for the piece of stainless, than I have to get it bent and the corner welded.

    Idea for countertop:

Sand the wood. Stain it with something pretty or use the remainder of your grey paint. Go to the naughty shop and purchase several skin rags. Lipstick, fake titties, lesbians, all that good stuff. Cut out the good pics and glue them to the counter. A porno-collage if you will. Cover with a piece of clear lexan. Counter complete. :D
