BTW, I think that thing has a bezel that unscrews from the top the one around the chrystal....

So you are saying that the crystal unscrews? If so how does the stem disconnect since you do not have access from the front of the face.

No, I THINK the top bezel that surrounds the chrystal unscrews and the chrystal comes off with it and then if there isn't a slot for the stom to come out from the front it also unscrews from the mechanisim. I can't beleive there isn't a watch maker on this site....I seem to remmber that ios how these old GP watches worked.

I've never been able to tolerate the feeling of jewelry against my skin: Rings, watches, necklaces, all really bother me. A pocket watch would be nice for the times I prefer to leave my phone at home however. Does anyone have suggestions for something that keeps time accurately and doesn't cost much?

You can get a quartz pocket watch that costs less that 50 bucks at Walmart and keeps great time. Pretty too! Or you can get on of those camping ones that has a carabiner to hold it on the belt loop, pretty cool...wal mart has them as well.

I carried a heavy duty Swiss Army pocket watch for a few years. It was water resistant and had a thick mineral crystal. I sold it for some stupid reason.

Yes... but made with the old Breitling tooling which now also makes coins and on second shift grades rice.

Nice - it's known as an E6B bezel. Fairly useful but it almost requires daily use to stay proficient although you can usually figure it out with a little practice.

Rolex white gold sub, a bit pricey for my taste at $26,000, but I like the cool blue..
