:rofl I knew 2 weeks after getting the thing, it's taken me another 4 weeks to start forming an upgrade plan. Lol

And yes, OBCDR is one of the reasons, along with the Wallowa ride. :lol3

It is for us in the SW corner, 47 degrees and rain, rain, rain....

Nope, actually seems like a normal Oregon winter.

It takes time to write good ads, but no more time than is spent here on Flea Market, and it works.

Any time I sell something on here, I know that you fuckers are busy just like I am; it's not just the cost of the item, the price:value has to be such that you're motivated to actually complete the sale, because that 20-60 minutes you spend PMing with me, driving to my house, etc. is all worth something. It's also worth something to me the time I invest marketing what I am selling.

How is it worth the seller's or the buyer's time to fuck with some of this stuff. Goodwill exists specifically for this type of stuff; and even they have more of it gifted to them than they know what to do with.

I know that there's been a lot of comments at my expense here because of the posts in the flea market. So here's my thoughts....I had a bit of a tough patch financially, and I had a lot of stuff that's been accumulating over the years. I lost over 50 lbs since last June (maybe I'll stop breaking the subframes now) and I had a lot of good clothes that just didn't fit any more. I already give several thousands of dollars worth of things every year to Goodwill, Salvation Army and the like. This year I went and collected 2 truckloads of baby and children's items from family and friends to stock up a battered women's and refugee women's shelter, because I like to help people. I tried to keep the things on here to either clothing, business items, sporting goods or motorcycle related items. Almost everything was at a fraction of what I paid new for the item, unless it was new, or like new, in which case I may have asked half of what I paid for it new. There were a few things that were oddball items, but WTF, I though maybe there was a rider out there that didn't know that DVD's had been invented yet and would think 50 cents for a movie was a screaming deal! :D

So far I've shipped out about 35 boxes of stuff to people who've sent back thanks for the great deals and service.

I've relearned the axiom, "you just can't please everybody" :freaky With any luck I'll be done with this process soon. Thanks guys!

You're fucking weird man, but I have to respect your ability to post logical, non-emotional responses to all the attacks. :D

Fuck it. It's a flea market, sell whatever and as much as you want. If the buyer and seller are happy who gives a shit?

Now as far as fuckers that requote the entire garage sale...:gun2

It's also good karma to donate something back to this site if you sell a ton o'stuff. http://www.advrider.com/Donate/Donate.html

About two years ago, when I sold all my stock bike parts that I had replaced with cool stuff over the years before, I sold almost all of it on ADV Flea Market, then what was left went to FleaBay. Turns out Orange Crushers want stock parts; who knew? Stock Handguards, grabrails, stock and aftermarket clutch slaves, stock gas tanks, etc......

Gladly gave Baldy $50. Probly shoulda gave more.

It's not the first time I've heard that....but you must have missed my first post on this thread :lol3 I've thought about donating to the thread when I can, but I've had another nagging thought that I can't seem to shake. I'm more inclined to see if there is an interest in the group to put together an event to raise money for Toolfan's family. I'm not sure where, but I knew him from somewhere. I guess the 40 years of riding must have shaken some stuff loose, I'll remember your face or what you ride, but not your name. I'm thinking that using either one of the established events, or something like what TourPro was doing at his place (and should do again) would be a great way to help out a young family. We could add a yard sale of bike stuff to the event with the proceeds being donated to the family. You'd probably pay a few extra bucks for an item if you knew the whole thing was going to go to the family wouldn't you? I would, and I'd help with the logistics of setting it up. I saw the funds being raised for the family, and it's great, but it's only going to put a dent in what she'll need for the next few years. When she doesn't need it anymore, we could find another rider family to help, and keep a great event in place.

    Your thoughts? :ear:ear:ear
