This is the thread for planning my Annual End Of September Camp & Ride. 1 to 3 riders plus me is what seems to work best. More than that and it is hard to keep up a good pace. No noobs. Intermediate or better riders. 200 ish mile fuel range. If you are interested in tagging along, post up here. See the following reports for a preview of what my rides are like. The only trip I didn't post a ride report on was 2011. 2012 and 2013 reports are in this thread. I've got most of Nevada explored so Utah is next on the list.

In 2012 we camped at Wildhorse State Recreation Area and did loops out of there. I never did do a ride report on it but here are a few pictures.

    The view from camp.

My good fuel mileage camping setup.

There were big chested babes. :lol3

    Big holes in the ground.

Big bull elk that walk right up to you during the rut. Maybe stinky dirtbikers smell kinda like cow elk in heat? :rofl

    Big canyons.

    Big views.

    Big art.

    Big fall colors.

    Big rocky inclines.

    Big old trucks.

    Big thumpers on single track.

    And big wrecks.

Come on down and have a BIG old time! :ricky

I would love to get down to those parts this year but already have plans to take a week off this month to ride. Im not sure my employer would grant me another week next month but I will try for it.

Your killin' me with those pics. I was just telling a friend I wanted to take a trip this fall, and said maybe toward Yellowstone or down to the Great Basin Area.

How many miles a day do you ride, and how much rough single track? Do you get as far south as Great Basin Park?

    Git er done!

It's big wide open country which makes for some high mileage days. 150-250 miles would be my estimate. I like those miles to be in the dirt as much as possible.

Probably not any rough single track on this trip.

I probably won't get to Great Basin National Park, although that looks like a good spot to visit next time.

Bend to Denio to McDermitt to Battle Mt to Eureka to Elko to Jarbidge and afte that, who knows?

Well they aren't all rocky. :D This one was steep, long, curvy and loose.

HA! Just north of the big 'cans' is a track that takes off the road and climbs for 6 miles to the top of an awesome mountain that is 9000'

It's an out and back but the climb is serene:

I'd go if I could get the time off. I wouldn't take my DR650 though... this is a job for the KLX! :)

Though FWIW I've seen plenty of Nevada. Used to do lots of exploring trips on ATVs into all kinds of remote places in Nevada, usually in the search for old mines and ghost towns. After a while it all starts to look the same.
