My "rally" fizzled! Trials is a mental game and I couldn't get into it all day. I ended up with 42 points (last again). I don't remember what the winning score was, but 3rd (grizzzly) had half of that and he even had his chain fall off in one section. :huh I missed gates on sections that I had previously cleaned. How the heck do you do that?? 15 points total down the drain due to missed gates. Timing was off all day....I got 15 points in another section...... But you know what? I had a blast and both days were awesome! Thanks to all the guys that put this one together. I'll get a few pics of lowers up later.
I don't know diddly about trials, but I like the way you guys can laugh at yourselves. What's missing a gate?
Within each section at a trials event there are gates marking lines and obstacles that riders from each class must ride through. The gates are marked with the class or classes that have to go through it. You must ride through every gate marked for your class and cannot ride through a gate marked for another class. I'm guessing Gordy neglected to ride through one of the gates for his class...3 times! The focus of that man is amazing especially when you consider he had already ridden the section before and cleaned it!
4+ months since I rode it last and blew out the ACL, Memorial day weekend. 3 months and a few days since surgery, in early July I am not suppose to be on the bike until at least 4 months after surgery I took the bike for a little ride around the back yard. Just a 10 minute ride, never got out of 1st gear, didn't even ride over any of the logs or rocks. Just putzed around and made some turns, played with the clutch and brakes. Realizing that I will need a lot of pratice to get to where I was at before things went bad. Just taking it easy and not let the knee get any impacts for another month or more. Nice to smell that 2-stroke smell again.
I blew mine out last on my 43rd birthday oct 2002. I sold everything. I was not ready to ride at my level for 18 months. Bought a bike on a friday just before our may event 2004. We had I think twelve riders in Expert, I could not believe I pulled off a win. Well worth taking baby steps. Brace or no brace? Glad to hear you are going to ride again. Just be careful till it is real strong.
I believe it! I remember the firt time I tried just doing a turn on a concrete slop. Just riding in a circle is interesting. Traction is great, dealing with all the changing loads and forces is something everyone should try. Just riding in a straight line on a side slop can be a little tricky until you have done it a few times.
On Jan 23, 12 my GG 280 decided it was time to eat the little ac~dc[fan module] thingy and the fan[both new]. Well I found out that there was never a voltage regulator hooked in the line[it was there just wasn't hooked up and didn't work nohow:huh]. Any way I have all the parts now and em going to install them tomorrow and see if it works. Well I just got back from my shop. Clip a zip-tie and plug in two plugs five kicks later the engine was running, hit the switch and we have fan cooling[again]. It seemed to run at a constant speed so I'm guessing that every thing is working. This is posta be a square thing. Now I have two running trials bikes. Hope this is the end of updates till it has a new owner.
I was told to come by and "pick up" my classic Ariel after some mag repairs. Think I better head to the doctor's office now! That aint no modern trials bike!
