I am in for sure. I hope to be out there by dark on Friday the 25th. Jeff, I had talked with you about bringing a local friend (inactive ADV member) on an XR650L, but I have not heard an answer from him. I assume he is not coming, but I will let you know if I hear otherwise. Good luck with the recon today. Creeks and rivers should be flowing well. Maybe that slippery stuff on the rocks will get washed away.

Hey Eddy, I'm might get in the trailer with you if there's a space. Waiting to see what the weathers going to be.. But if so, I'll mount up my 18" rear wheel with actual knobs.

No, unless that is what caused my Vario side cases to malfunction. BOTH sides seem to have jammed up expansion/contraction mechanisms.
Work and other maintenance issues have trumped recreation. :cry
I had the feeling that I had too many fun weekends planned too close together (GS Trophy, BWDR, and PM 500). I was really looking forward to seeing Jeff's place as well as others I've not ridden with in a while. I also wanted to have the YZ ready for this but haven't been able to get to it.

    Damn

Why did I read that? I feel like I've killed off some brain cells and not in the usual fun way. It does remind me to ride both bikes for a little this week just before I completely ignore them for the next couple weeks.

Jeff, my friend emailed me back and he is in. His name is Jeff and on an XR650L. If you ride your XR we will have two of you. Well, sort of.

I am a bit leery of mixing live ammo and large crowds. Would prefer it if we could do a separate weekend for firing. That way we could do pistols, and rifles at the long distance targets, with a modicum of safety.

Besides, it will take almost all of the daylight hours to ride 160 miles on Saturday. I think we'll have a full schedule as it is. :D

Yesterday at the old Azalea mall in Lakeside.

Also, a few months ago I found some pretty neat trails right by the racetrack. I figure since I'm leaving town anyway I'd let you guys know about it in case you found yourself in the area with a dirt craving. It's the first left over the bridge going east on Laburnum after you've passed the track on your left. Look for a gravel entrance to your immediate right.

While it's a little slow to start, here's some video so you know what's in there:

Yeah me too. Where's the uproar over my signature? A few political words made it into a general discussion forum! Shouldn't we be at DEFCON 4 or something right about now??

I would have seen about riding with you yesterday evening but I was already out and about doing crap. Been so busy lately I don't have the free days to ride like I did before so it's been more spur-of-the-moment.

Give me a call if you get out some evening this week.

Great to finally put a name, with a face, with a bike.

    Greg / Brandon / Jeff / Me

Jeff's place is an awesome get away. I'm not sure my wife could ever drag me back to civilization if I had a place like that to escape to.

Great riding with you guys and we could not have asked for more beautiful weather.

Long day ~ great ride! (300+ in the Tahoe 100+ on the bike).

Sorry no better pics were were riding...

Hey DirtMonkey, is there still room for me now that your friend is coming or should I be hooking up with Eddy?
