Well that's now 31 years since Scotland beat England at Twickers. Usually opening games are a bit uninspiring but today there were two good games. I was pleased to see that Scotland played much better (in some phases) than they have for years. It's no fun beating a really poor Scottish team. The Calcutta Cup stays at home.
Looked to me like they realized about 70 minutes in that they were playing in a rugby game. Come on boys, commit to some rucks.
Well, I guess a win is a win but that performance from England was pretty dire. Why, when an England player gets the ball, do they feel the need to pass almost immediately ? They need to offload ONLY if the time is right - they passed way too many times to someone who was totally static. My God, the southern hemisphere guys would have ripped England to shreds yesterday...
The French haven't really turned up in the first half. I've got a feeling they've got a couple more gears if they can find them.
