My Man Castle, the Motorcyclist Cafe barn and Bunkhouse. Started building it 4th of July 2006, located abour 450' from our house. We live out in the country up in the White Mountains of Arizona down a 3 mile dirt and gravel Bagdad drive driveway completely off grid.

Pic taken just after a snowstorm Dec 2 the other day.

Looking from our house, I built the entire thing myself and now at the 99% completed mark, part of the fun is constantly thinking of things to add.

Looking inside from the large overhead door. The concrete slab is 30' wide by 50' deep. The downstair is the shop and the upstair is a 10 bed guest house.

I'm not so astonished that you have a complete castle, I think we all would if we had the space and budget. What amazes me is you have a 1200CL.! I have never seen one on the road. I'm sure they are out there, but not many.
Great set-up. Reminds me of when I was in high school. We had to design a house " for an up& coming executive type", or something like that. I spent all my time and effort on the garage, looking not too far off what you have, and almost no time on the house. I got a very poor mark as I recall. My drafting teacher wasn't into bikes or cars.

Probably missed that as an "up and coming executive" his digs would need to be an expensive loft apartment, he would be driving a 5 series, leased, his suits conservative, and his shoes black and polished, no wingtips.

Do you like huey lewis and the news?

Yes I had a CLC, sold it when I bought my K1600GT. The CLC was a little tough at parking lot speeds but would cruise at 90 sun up to sun down and the head lites turned nite into day. Belive it or not, I really enjoyed the bike.

I did not spend as much as you might think, the whole thing is a little over 3,000 sq ft. I prowled the lumber yards, Lowes and Home Depot constantly looking for deals, referbishments and bring backs. for example, I bought 6 5x5 double payne slider windows brand new for $25.00 each. the entire project was done with out plans at all, each day I would figure out what to do and how to do it. A lot of the furniture was donated and all I had to do was to rebuild it. The upper roof consists of 24 sq of 40 year archectural shingles that I bought for $112.00 total. The plastic laminate flooring sat in boxes in our house for two years before being used, the design of the place evolved day by day depending on the materials that I scrounged up.

Hey Dean, hope last summer's fire didn't affect you too much. My bud and I took the long way home from the WSB races in Utah. I had planned to show him the Clifton to Alpine road, but it seemed like the whole of the White Mts were on fire. We camped at Apache Creek and rode to Reserve for breakfast but had to backtrack to Quemado to go west.

I'm going to be really bummed if the little BLM campground KP Cienega burned. Nice place that you have carved out for yourself.
