You wouldn't be able to hear any ticking from way back there. (no ticking or overheating, or ANY problems on my Gen II. I traded in an ST1100 with 123000 miles for the FJR)

It's actually the Laminar Combo (screen & lip) and it works very well. Same as Rackmans in the pic above your post I quoted. I tried a couple screens and did LOTS of reading and searching on the forums and came to the decision that the majority of 1100 guys like the Laminar combo out of the screens they have tried. I got one and agree. I can see over it fine and it does nearly eliminate the buffeting on my helmet - and it is more laid back than the stock screen so it's not a big barn door sticking up there killing the fuel mileage on long tours. I use it in the spring/fall/winter and summer if I am going somewhere that I know will be heavy in the bug department. For general summer use I run the screen in the first pic I posted, which is a Givi +1.5" smoke that came with the bike (actually, it's also in the pic of 3 at DG and on the road after) that I cut down 4". This allows nice clean air hitting my helmet (almost like standing up on the bike) and lots more air to hit my body and cool me down.

I owned my '91 for about 16 months and 25,000 miles. It didn't need it, but after I bought it, I went through everything.

It could do stuff like this (Photo by Gil Marr)

And then this happened in '06.

I stared at that pic for like 5 minutes trying to figure out why on earth there was a Yamaha logo on your ST....then it dawned on me that there is a bike behind yours...:D

    Yeah.

I removed your Highway Wings from my wrecked ST, straightened them out and sold them to a guy in England. :D

It took me a long time to decide not to get another ST.

Hi, I just got an 1100 and so far I love it, but I need a little help here:wink: . My wife wants to know which bike I'm going to sell now. The GL1500 or the KLR. Help me convince her that I need to keep all three! Her name is Diana.

    Here's the bike.

You can always price the other bikes way to high and no one will buy them. :clap :lol3

    Great idea:evil

Do you think $18,000 is too high for the KLR? I'll include a HD vest with it. The GL1500 is vintage (1988) so I probably can't sell it unless it passes :rofl the smog check.
