Northwestern VA Tag!

Ranger duck decided to fly east for a while.... over one mountain and then another...


Behind my bike, just out of the picture you will see this tree....



And our friend behind the tree and then covered up.....





Clues... The tag is on a 700 series road that equals 15. The name of the road is P_ _ _ V_ _ _ _ _ Road. The first word is an individual part of a book. The second word is a large area between mountains. The road is gravel and freshly graded!! Be careful

Just got the map updated and I added even more prime tagging territory! We are now a multi-state game.

Location
~ The tag boundaries are all of Fredrick, Clarke, Shenandoah, Warren, Rappahanock and Page counties, Loudoun county South of Rt 7 & Southwest of Rt 734 through Bluemont, Philomont and down to Aldie. Fauquier, Culpeper and Madison counties Northwest of Rt 29 and Green County Northwest of Rt 29 and North of Rt 33.

EDIT(11-10-10) Rockingham County North of Rt 33 to Florist Rd West of Elkton, Northwest to Epoint Rd North to a point, 38.43247 -78.65754 then west to the top of the ridge.

I didn't have time to correct that yet. I'm going to add...

EDIT(11-19-10) Added a small(but good) area in West Virginia for more tagging opportunities. See the Northwestern portion of the map!

those are some good areas to add.....i was kind of selfishly hoping for Berkeley and Jefferson Counties I consider them still part of Virginny ... ...but that may be too far for some of the southern players... .

I may expand it a little more. Just don't want to get too carried away.
I'm kinda right in the middle of the playing field, imagine that, and it's still quite a ways away to the boundary in some directions.

Anyway, RD2 is at the base of the historical marker in the picture on the side of the post away from the road

Hope you enjoyed the ride down along the river. BTW, I ran into a Forest Service firefighter that said both fires on the Massanutten were set by the same old man with alzheimers because he was lost! Crazy :huh

I've been down there a couple times since I got the bike. It is a nice ride. Just wish there was a legal way to get through on the north end. I also wish I had left the house before 3:30.

Well for having Alzheimer's he must be in good shape cause one fire is down west of Shenandoah and the other is west of Luray.
Since I can't find any info on the fire I saw maybe it's a new fire because I could have sworn I remember hearing about two fires in the same general vicinity near Shenandoah.?!
